The pair will meet in the ring on November 15 in Tyson’s first professional fight since 2005.
The legendary Iron Mike Tyson warns Jake Paul he will die in the boxing ring in his quest to become “immortal” as the ex-undisputed heavyweight champion prepares for their November 15 clash. After initially being postponed due to an ulcer flare up for the 58-year-old aboard a flight, they will finally meet in the ring in just over a fortnight in what will be his first professional fight since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005.
And there are fears for his health with fans suggesting the age gap of almost 30 years is simply too much to overcome, but the boxing legend actually sees it in a different way as he thinks about his legacy if he beats the YouTuber.
“If I win, I’ll be immortal,” Tyson said via to Most Valuable Promotions. “If I do it badly, I don’t wanna die in a hospital bedroom.
“I wanna die in a ring.”
Despite being almost 60 and inactive in any fighting capacity since 2020, the former two-time heavyweight champion who fought icons such as Buster Douglas, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis has not struggled to get back into shape.
Of course, he doesn’t look as shredded as he did when he became the youngest ever champion in the 1980s but he is in very good condition as he showed off his muscular frame which left Paul stunned and possibly rethinking his decisions.
“Fair play Mike,” Paul said via social media. “You look incredible. Hulk s**t. But I’m still fucking you up in 20 days.”
When is Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul?
Mike Tyson will return to a professional boxing ring on November 15 when he takes on Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, in an event streamed by Netflix.
Tyson is not favorite to win due to the age disparity between himself and Paul but with 50 career wins and 44 knockouts, he cannot be counted out by any means.
