Jade Thirlwall may be the princess of pop but she could have been actual royalty as her Little Mix bandmates once tried to set her up with Prince Harry.
The songstress, 31, who is now a solo artist, told Nick Grimshaw on his Sidetracked podcast that her former bandmates Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock believed the pair could hit it off.
She admitted that the group tried to set them up at the Royal Variety Performance in 2015 before he started dating Meghan Markle.
Jade confessed she felt ‘nervous’ shaking his hand but as the royal was going down the line to greet his guests, Jade couldn’t help but start fantasising about her own ‘Princess Diaries’ moment.
She explained: ‘I was single at the time and all the girls were like, “Oh, Harry. You could be in with a chance!” I was like, “Oh, God, here we go.”

‘They were being those sort of friends. And then, he is going down the line and I started getting nervous.’
Jade said that when it same to shaking the Prince’s hand, the group of girls started to get excited and said ‘ohhhhhhh’ as he reached out his hand.
Seemingly embarrassed, the popstar told Nick that she thought Harry must have thought she was a ‘weirdo’.
‘I shook his hand and I think it was Jesy who was like, “Ohhhh”. I was like, “Not in front of the Prince of England!”
‘I’m all for wing women, but not in that situation. He must have thought, ‘What a weirdo!’
Jade, who now dates Rizzle Kicks’ Jordan Stephens, said: ‘I can’t flirt anyways, so there was definitely nothing like that.
‘Maybe I did a slight over-linger on the handshake, to catch a vibe. There wasn’t one. I wish him well.’
Her cheeky admission came just hours after she shared a stunning new version of her song Angel Of My Dreams, after the original earned over 15 million streams following its debut.

Having kickstarted her solo career in stellar fashion, she continued her momentum with this S.A.D (slow, angelic, dramatic) take on her upbeat hit.
Unveiling the track with an accompanying performance video, Jade transformed into a scorn bride for the haunting clip, sporting a tight white corset and a matching veil.
As the video opens, Jade’s face is hidden behind an oversized veil, moving through an abandoned palace as she belts out the song.
Suddenly the lights transform the star, as she belts out the song under a glittering spotlight, while she belts out the closing vocals of the song.
Angel of My Dreams has been a huge critical and commercial success for Jade.
The track has accumulated over 15 million streams to date, entering the UK Official Singles Chart at No.7, the third highest new entry for a British artist this year.
The accompanying video was a No.1 YouTube trending video for 10 days.
