As Zuckerberg’s chain-clad aesthetic made buzz through the internet, we decode the tech tycoon’s wardrobe update

When Meta-founder Mark Zuckerberg rose to fame in the early 2000s, his dresscode of hoodies, jeans, and sliders, was too bland for the average fashion critic to comprehend. But it became a style statement of its own and came to define the fashion-oblivious, underdressed nerds of Silicon Valley.

But now, it seems like Zuck’s finally taking a break from the hoodie and plain T-shirts. A recent video by the tech tycoon sporting a textured navy sweater, and an edgy gold chain just serves as proof. When he is not participating in jiu-jitsu tournaments, it seems like Mark Zuckerberg is busy giving himself a makeover. From shearling tan jackets, tailored tuxedos to designer looks, including a kurta set that he donned at the Ambani pre-wedding bash, Zuck’s style has finally changed. And dare we say, become fashionable?

Speaking about Mark Zuckerberg’s makeover and the many looks that he donned in Jamnagar, designer Rahul Mishra says, “When we were contacted to dress Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations, we were very excited. All of us have seen him mostly in black, grey tees and hoodies, so my idea was to do something for him which is completely new. He also messaged me on Instagram, ‘Rahul Mishra, your clothes are fire!’ So it was wonderful for him also. We sent a lot of options for both of them, almost two suitcases full of samples, out of those they shortlisted quite a few. Each one had four-five sets and three of those they wore during different functions. Mark has a great sense of dressing, he chose just the right kind of options and we also knew what he was looking for. Sunderban T-shirt-meets-kurta kind of style was something which we purposely selected for him. I am very happy with Mark’s choices in dressing, that’s how it should be – fun, comfortable. Sometimes, people get too narrowed down by their choices, but it is about breaking stereotypes, breaking the mould and now I see that he is coming out of the grey and black hoodies more often, and that is a good change.”
