Nearly five years after the two parted ways, Kristen Bell recently reunited with two of her Good Place stars, as confirmed by one of her co-stars. Created by Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation‘s Michael Schur, the NBC supernatural comedy explored the afterlives of a group of people in what they initially believe to be the titular positive afterlife, only to learn they’re actually in Hell, known in the show as the Bad Place. Alongside Bell, the ensemble Good Place cast included Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, D’Arcy Carden and Manny Jacinto.
Across its four seasons, The Good Place garnered widespread acclaim, netting 14 Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations. While Bell and Danson were also well-established stars, the show served as a launchpad for many of its other main stars, with both Harper and Jamil going on to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Carden co-starred in the short-lived A League of Their Own TV adaptation and Jacinto in the most recent Star Wars show, The Acolyte. But amidst their busy schedules, a few have found a way to have a fun reunion.

Danson and Schur recently reteamed for Netflix’s A Man on the Inside, in which the two-time Emmy winner stars as Charles Nieuwendyk, a widower and retired college professor who, seeking new purpose in life, begins working for a private detective and goes undercover at a San Francisco retirement home to find a missing necklace. Adapted by Schur from the Oscar-nominated documentary The Mole Agent, A Man on the Inside has garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, many of whom have noted a variety of Easter eggs and references to The Good Place.
One such connection viewers noticed in the season finale is a character donning one of the sweaters Kristen Bell’s Eleanor Shellstrop wore in The Good Place, albeit with the character’s back to the camera. Now, D’Arcy Carden has taken to her Instagram to confirm that was indeed Kristen Bell making a hidden cameo in A Man on the Inside‘s ending, including a photo of her in the sweater alongside their fellow Good Place alums Marc Evan Jackson and Danson with the caption “Another mystery solved.” Check out Carden’s post below:
What Bell’s Cameo Means For A Man On The Inside
Schur Loves His Frequent Collaborators
Though it seems unlikely that her confirmed cameo is meant to be her Good Place character, Bell’s cameo in A Man on the Inside does showcase Schur’s most notable trend of frequently working with the same actors. Jackson not only starred in the supernatural comedy as Danson’s boss, but also recurred as no-nonsense attorney Trevor in Parks and Recreation and as Captain Holt’s husband Kevin in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Stephanie Beatriz also reteamed with Schur for A Man on the Inside, though in the series regular role of Didi, the retirement home’s managing director.
With so many actors already popping up in the show’s first season, the door certainly seems wide open for more Good Place actors to appear in a potential A Man on the Inside season 2. Given season 1 left off with Danson’s Charles accepting a new mission, the possibilities seem endless for what Charles’ future holds, and therefore Schur could write any of his former stars into the show, including giving Bell a proper role, considering her own ongoing partnership with Netflix on the romantic comedy show Nobody Wants This, which has season 2 in the works.
