Ah, Emily in Paris. Love it or loathe it, the award-winning, headline-dominating Netflix series is returning to the small screen for its fifth season, which means several things will also be coming back.

The first is the outré ensembles that have firmly planted Emily in Paris on the cultural map; the second is lashings more love conundrums (let’s talk about that triangle between Emily, Gabriel and Italian newcomer Marcello) and the third is more over-the-top, larger-than-life Americanisms against the backdrop of mainland Europe. Indeed, given that we know that Emily will be spending more time in Rome than in Paris in the show’s fifth outing, it may well be that audiences are offered even more of a taste of la dolce vita in the upcoming fifth season.

From whisperings of Samantha Jones herself, Kim Cattrall, making a sneaky appearance to Victoria Beckham featuring in future series, this is every cameo we’re hoping to see in Emily in Paris season five. Here’s hoping!

Kim Cattrall

In a recent interview with IMDb, Lucas Bravo, who plays French cook Gabriel admitted that he and several of his fellow cast members have been ‘manifesting’ for Sex And The City’s Kim Cattrall to join the fifth season of Emily in Paris. ‘We’ve been talking about – earlier – about having Kim Cattrall, manifesting her presence on Emily in Paris,’ said the 36-year-old actor, when discussing which show he’d like to a crossover with.

Similarly, his co-stars were all in agreement of a Sex and the City crossover. Lily Collins, who stars as Emily Cooper, also weighed in her thoughts. ‘I would say the obvious but also genuine answer is gonna be Sex and the City just because naturally I feel like there’s a lot of crossover there,’ she said.

Kim Cattrall appearing on the show wouldn’t be too much of a far-fetched idea either, given that Darren Star, the creator of Emily in Paris, was also the man who adapted Sex and the City for the small screen in 1998. Watch this space is all we’re saying…

Victoria Beckham

When asked what fans of the show can expect from its now-confirmed fifth series, Lily Collins, who plays the titular character, told the outlet the designers she’s most hoping her character will wear. ‘I would love to wear a little Victoria Beckham. I think that would be fun,’ she shared. ‘I feel like it’s very chic. Emily is embracing black more, and that tailored aesthetic, and I feel like that would be lovely.’

Given Beckham’s proclivity for silliness – her signature pout belies quite the devilish sense of humour if hers and her husband David’s Netflix documentary is anything to go by – we wouldn’t be surprised to see her crop up with a brief appearance in season five.

Given that the fifth season is confirmed to spend more time in Rome, we don’t see why a cameo from one of Italy’s most revered designers wouldn’t be on the cards? Given that producers of the hit show managed to nab a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo appearance from French first lady, Brigitte Macron, for the fourth season, we don’t see why Ms. Prada herself would be so out of reach. Not to mention the new-season Prada and Miu Miu for Emily that may well follow in Miuccia’s wake…

Monica Bellucci

We are living through something of a Monica Bellucci renaissance and, given her enduring appeal, why shouldn’t one of Italy’s most talented national treasures make an appearance in the upcoming Roman outing of Emily in Paris? This year alone has seen Bellucci star in the Beetlejuice sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, with 2025 prepped with plenty more projects. What’s to say that a little small screen pitstop on our favourite rom-com series is so out of the question?
