“Careful, dear, that’s how we got pregnant with number 3,” Ripa joked after Knightley revealed she and her husband were traveling alone
Kelly Ripa is teasing how she and Mark Conseulos conceived their third child.
On the Dec. 16 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Keira Knightley joined the hosts to talk about her new Netflix thriller Black Doves. When the actress said she didn’t bring her 5 and 9-year-old daughters Delilah and Edie on the press tour, Ripa, 54, had a piece of advice for her.
“They’re with my family. They’re having a lovely time. I’m here with my husband,” Knightley shared. “Do you know that sudden thing where you’re like, ‘Woah’? I was on the plane — I read my book. I can sit down. This is amazing!”
“Careful, dear, that’s how we got pregnant with number 3,” Ripa quipped, referring to son Joaquin. “We went away.”
“No, he’s not coming anywhere near me,” Knightley playfully replied while referencing her husband James Righton.

Ripa and Consuelos, who have been married for 28 years, share three children: Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21. They often talk about their family on their ABC morning show, recently sharing how they got the kids to all agree on a holiday card photo.
“What I did was, I sent my kids a picture of Madonna and me and her children and I said, ‘This is the family Christmas card this year unless you approve of the three of you in a photo of your dad and me. Here are your options,’” Ripa revealed on the Dec. 13 episode.
“They all responded pretty quickly,” Consuelos, 53, added.
“They literally said, ‘Do whatever you want,'” Ripa continued before joking, “So, I’m using Madonna and me and her kids.”
“By the way, those are our kids’ eyes,” Consuelos said. “They don’t live here anymore, so when we leave our bedroom it feels like they’re still with us.”
Ripa chimed in, “And I could stare at my kids’ eyes forever. I just think they’re great.”

In their April 2023 cover story, Ripa told PEOPLE what she saw her kids doing in the future, and revealed whether any of them would be following in their parents’ footsteps.
“Michael talks about it constantly,” she said. “When we told the kids Mark was [co-hosting], Michael was like ‘I would have been perfect for that!'”
Ripa went on to share that Lola had expressed interest in hosting as well, saying she and Live executive producer Michael Gelman’s daughter Jamie “for years have said that they were going to take over.”
Live television might not be the right thing for Joaquin, though.
“Joaquin’s a little reserved,” Consuelos explained. “But he would turn it on. He’s a drama student and he could turn it on for that hour, but I think he probably wouldn’t want to do that.”
