Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson via unanimous decision last month in a highly-controversial professional fight live on Netflix, but the YouTuber isn’t interested in any criticism
Jake Paul, the 27 year old boxing sensation, remains unfazed by criticism following his bout with heavyweight legend Mike Tyson. The fight, which took place at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium last month, saw Paul triumph over Tyson via unanimous decision.
Originally scheduled for July, the match was postponed to November after Tyson, 58, experienced a severe medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in June. Tyson’s health and age were major points of discussion leading up to the fight, and these concerns seemed justified as the former Heavyweight King delivered a lackluster performance upon his return to professional boxing.
Despite the criticism, Paul remains indifferent. “There’s no response to the reaction of the Tyson fight. I quite frankly didn’t look at it,” he confessed to MMA Fighting.
“What do I care what people have to say about anything that I do? If anyone in my life has something to say, they’ll text me. And if you don’t have my number, then I don’t give a —- about you. All the texts were, um, ‘best event ever’. ‘Incredible’. ‘You’re the, you know, face of boxing’, all of these things, record breaking love, love, love, love, love, love, love. And that’s all I care about. I mean, that’s just, that’s the landscape we’re in is like everyone just trying to talk —- and, you know, peacock jockey for their, for their position.
“But, um, beyond all the —- talk, like I don’t want to just create a back and forth of nonsense, but I have the biggest fight in boxing history. Numbers tell the truth of that.”
“So people can say whatever they want, but let me see you do more numbers and then we can, then we can talk. People are just mad that it’s permanently on BoxRec that I beat Mike Tyson.”

Paul’s promotional partner, Nakisa Bidarian, confirmed to The Sun that venues and opponents are currently under review. “In terms of his timeline to return, we’ve talked about anything from April to July,” said Bidarian, discussing when fans can expect to see Paul back in action.
“We have a number of venues held through that time period and then we’re just having different discussions with potential opponents.”
