Jake Paul, who defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson last month, lost to Tommy Fury back in February and the pair have been linked with a rematch ever since
Jake Paul has stated he would be open to a rematch with Tommy Fury, but only under the condition of a 12-round boxing fight.
The YouTuber-turned-professional-boxer’s sole defeat in the ring was handed to him by Fury during their bout in Saudi Arabia back in February 2023. Speculation about a potential rematch has been circulating, and both fighters’ schedules are currently clear.
Fury recently scrapped his match with Darren Till after the former UFC fighter threatened to use MMA tactics, which Fury dismissed as “stupid”. This could pave the way for a rematch with Paul, who promptly took to social media to state his terms: “Only if it’s 12 rounds.”
Their first encounter was an eight-round cruiserweight match. Fury has previously expressed his willingness to face Paul again, telling ESPN: “In a heartbeat, yeah. I mean at the end of the day I think me and him, we’re set in stone. He’s only got one defeat and that’s to me, so it’s inevitable that we are going to get back in the ring.
“I know I’m going to be an improved fighter and with him the [fights] he’s taking and what he’s doing, I’m not sure if he’s going to improve that much.”
Paul’s most recent victory saw him defeat Mike Tyson in another shortened match. The heavyweight legend came out of retirement to face an opponent decades his junior, and the age difference ultimately played a role as Paul secured his win on points.

Paul has already expressed his desire to face a high-profile opponent next, with a potential bout against Canelo being discussed. However, B.J. Flores, Paul’s former trainer, has advised him to only consider a rematch with Fury if the financial terms are favorable.
He tole The Sun: “Tommy’s unreasonable with the money and he’s unreasonable with what he’s worth. So I don’t feel like it’s mandatory for Jake to fight Tommy again before anybody else. If it made sense business-wise, if not then no.
“Tommy’s not gonna get an opportunity like that with anybody else in the world. Trust me, that’ll will never come Tommy’s way again. So if he’s reasonable on the money and reasonable on the price, yeah, get the fight again.”
Paul has fought 12 times since starting his professional boxing career in 2020, but most of those bouts have been against former MMA fighters.
The 27-year-old has recorded victories against Ali Eson Gib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland, Mike Perry, and Tyson. Paul may be tempted to fight Fury again and avenge his only defeat.
