Mukesh Ambani, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, recently hosted a lavish wedding for his son, Anant Ambani. The three-day event, estimated to cost a staggering $600 million, was attended by a star-studded guest list that included politicians, celebrities, business tycoons, and world leaders.
To accommodate the influx of guests, the small Jamnagar defense airport was granted special international clearance for ten days. Over 400 domestic and 110 international flights landed at the airport, with 341 of those being private jets. The airport was flooded with a variety of luxury jets, including Gulfstreams, Bombarders, Falcons, and more.
To ensure the safety and privacy of the high-profile guests, many flights were flown under the radar, with no disclosure of flight details. Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Industries chartered 67 flights to transport guests and performers to and from the wedding.
The wedding featured performances by renowned international artists such as Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Coldplay. Rihanna even received two courtesy jets for herself and her crew.
Mukesh Ambani personally owns five private planes and two helicopters, valued at over $150 million. These aircraft were used to transport guests and family members during the wedding festivities.
The extravagant nature of the wedding has sparked both admiration and criticism. While some view it as a celebration of wealth and success, others question the appropriateness of such lavish spending in a world where many people struggle to meet basic needs.
