Leonardo DiCaprio might be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, but in his younger days he was struggling just like everyone else.
When we think of the most handsome celebs in Hollywood, one name that always pops up is Leonardo DiCaprio. The 49-year-old has been the heartthrob of ladies since his Titanic and Romeo + Juliet days, but there’s more to the star than his good looks.
Early in his career, DiCaprio sweated away hours on movie sets to bring the best out of his roles. However, sometimes he forgot to wash off that sweat, which caused problems for his co-stars, like Harry Potter actress Miriam Margolyes.
Miriam Margolyes once called out Leonardo DiCaprio for being smelly
Men often have a habit of overlooking self-care when chasing life goals. Leonardo DiCaprio, who worked hard to solidify his name in the golden pages of cinema, also found himself in the same predicament. His Romeo + Juliet co-star Miriam Margolyes once was repelled by his smell, and suggested he took a shower.
Margolyes, on her visit to This Morning, recalled:
He [DiCaprio] was a bit smelly because it was very hot in Mexico. And I think young boys, he was very young at the time, they don’t make themselves fragrant. They don’t wash all the bits. He was young and slim, but I don’t think he washed for weeks! And after a while, you notice it.
DiCaprio seemed to have taken the whole situation to the heart, as Margolyes admitted when she met him later on, he was very fragrant. She also remarked how DiCaprio was always a gentleman.

Leonardo DiCaprio has an appreciation for all forms of art, including Japanese animation. He even introduced his longtime collaborator, Martin Scorsese, to the genre.
He suggested that Scorsese should watch Studio Ghibli’s masterpieces, particularly Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, these films are regarded as the pinnacle of Japanese animated movies, blending fantastical elements with environmental motifs.
“It was Spirited Away you told me to watch,” Scorsese recalled during their conversation. DiCaprio has collaborated with Scorsese on the silver screen in six of his films. Maybe, in the future, the duo might get a chance to dabble in the genre.
