Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester has found love with Adam Brody from The O.C., US Weekly reports. An insider told the American publication that the pair, both stars of the teen genre, have been “hanging out” before adding that they “were always close and friendly”. Their connection dates back to 2011 when they co-starred in the comedy-drama The Oranges, which also featured Catherine Keener and Hugh Laurie of House fame. The fledgling relationship is only a few weeks old but is said to be full of promise.

And even though both are thought to be keen to keep their romance out of the spotlight, they were spotted getting cosy during a visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in early February. Witnesses to their public display of affection wasted no time getting the Twittersphere buzzing with what they’d seen.

One fan wrote: “They were getting cuddly today at the LACMA apparently? Hugging & laughing.” And another tweeted: “Just in the same museum exhibit with Adam Brody and Leighton Meester. Enough said.”

Devoted Gossip Girl fans will know Leighton better as Blair Waldorf from the hit show. In the series, her character’s love life has always been complex, but off-screen, things seem to be going just fine. Meanwhile, Adam registered on the Hollywood radar as comic book aficionado Seth Cohen on The O.C – the series which continued the teen dream genre Dawson’s Creek so famously established thanks to stars such as Katie Holmes.
