It’s safe to say Emily in Paris star Lucas Bravo is not Team Gabriel at the moment.
During a recent red carpet interview with SheKnows, the actor expressed frustrations with his character after being asked about the French chef’s “villain” era. “I don’t really read what’s online, but reading the script this last season, it was like, ‘I don’t really like what it’s becoming and where this storyline is going,’” he said, candidly. “You know, at the end of the day, I’m just an actor, and I’m here to say my lines, but, yeah, it’s kind of weird.”
While Bravo doesn’t think Gabriel is “the villain” of the story, the 36-year-old French actor says the chef was “more fun to play when he was just cheekily playful and in love.” In fact, Bravo says he “loved” part one of season four, which found Gabriel and Emily rekindling their romance.
Then came part two and that scene where Gabriel left his girlfriend at the top of a mountain to go after Camille… “I don’t understand him anymore,” Bravo admitted. “But we’ll see…Darren has plans. I’m just following it.” (Watch the video here.)
Emily in Paris fans who agree with Bravo’s assessment of Gabriel were extremely appreciative of the actor’s candor. “Wow. I can’t believe how honest he was about it. He gets it,” one user replied to the TikTok video. Someone else wrote, “I love how Lucas Bravo isn’t even Team Gabriel 😂💞 also we love the honesty.”
Another fan received over 11,000 likes on a comment of just his quote, “I don’t understand him anymore” and a sobbing emoji. “He was soo done with this season😂,” wrote another.
While Bravo says Gabriel “thinks he’s the victim” and “needs to own up to his mistakes and man up a bit,” we’ll just have to wait until season five to find out if he does.
