The Queens rapper – real name is Curtis Jackson – put on an epic show at the AO Arena on Friday night (10 November) as concert-goers were loving his old school bangers from the early and late 2000s.
I can’t believe we are now calling early 2000s music as ‘old school’, but that’s why I now have grey hair.
Anyway, Fifty was just casually dropping some hits from his ridiculous catalogue – from In Da Club and Candy Shop to Just A Lil Bit.
Now, if you know anything about rap music, you’ll be aware that 50 Cent and his good bud Eminem were two of the leading figures in Hip Hop in the 2000s.
And in 2002, the Detroit rapper – real name Marshall Mathers – signed fifty to Shady Records on the back of hearing his mixtape ‘Guess Who’s Back?’
Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic
The rest was history as the Queens rapper signed a $1 million deal, with his debut album ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ going straight to number one.
Quite simply, without Slim Shady, there would be no 50 Cent.
That being said, on Friday night, Fifty teased fans with what they thought was a surprise cameo from Shady.
Kayla was one of the hundreds who attended – and taking to TikTok – she captured the moment she, and many others, thought Eminem was about to jump on.
“Should of seen my face lol,” she captioned the post, which saw fifty chant the words: “Now when I say slim, you say shady – slim [shady], slim [shady].
“When I say doctor you say Dre – doctor [Dre], doctor [Dre].
Instead of Eminem, fans just got another one of his amazing songs.
“I started screamingggg when he started saying this,” one fan commented, as another added: “We were there and thought same.”
“Same here !!!! So bad,” a third said, while a fourth agreed: “Same I almost started crying but he was just playing.”

Well, nothing exemplifies the duo’s friendship more than when in 2020, Fifty was officially recognised for his impact on the entertainment industry, receiving the coveted Hollywood Hall of Fame star.
At the ceremony, both Em and Dre were in attendance as Mathers gave a heartfelt speech, explaining how Jackson was always there for him when he needed him the most.
“I’m here today because he’s not only a business partner to me, this is one of the best friends I’ve known in the world,” Eminem explained.
“I would say it’s much more fun to be his friend than it is to be his enemy, ’cause this guy is f**king relentless. And he won’t stop. He pretty much does it all.
“And he’s also helped me through a lot of hard times in my own life and he’s always been there when I need him. So, 50, congrats on your star, man.
“Hollywood is making it official what I knew from the beginning and Dre knew from the beginning.”
Enough to make a grown man cry.
