She’s set to star alongside Zac Efron.
Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor has signed on to star in upcoming thriller Famous.
Per Deadline, the actor – best known for playing Daphne Bridgerton in the hit Netflix period drama series – joins the previously announced Zac Efron in the movie, based on the book of the same name by Blake Crouch.
While Dynevor’s role is yet to be unveiled, Efron is confirmed to play dual roles in the film, portraying both Hollywood star James Jansen and his obsessive fan Lance Dunkquist.
Famous follows the story of Dunkquist, a fan with a Hollywood dream and the face of a movie star – more specifically he’s the spitting image of his icon Jansen. He travels to La La land to make his dream come true and seek fame, no matter the cost.
The novel has been adapted for the screen by Chad Hodge who previously worked with Crouch to translate his Wayward Pines book series for television.
Jody Hill has signed on to direct with Sam Esmail, of Leave The World Behind fame, on board as producer.
It’s not the only movie role Dynevor has scored of late, with it announced in May that she will head up new shark thriller Beneath the Storm. The film is scheduled for a US release next August.
Most recently, Dynevor appeared in Jack Cooper Stimpson’s More Flames, a short film which aims to flip the script on the current climate crisis. She stars alongside The Last of Us‘s Bella Ramsey and Aladdin‘s Amar Chadha-Patel in the comedy-satire.
Summer 2024 also saw Dynevor announce some exciting personal news amid her continued career success. The Bridgerton star is engaged to fellow actor Cameron Fuller, with her husband-to-be sharing a sweet Instagram post confirming the news in May.
The photo shows Fuller embracing his fiancée from behind on a stone balcony, with Dynevor covering her face in shock. Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney and Twisters actor Daisy Edgar-Jones were two stars to congratulate the couple in the post’s comment section.
There is currently no release date for Famous.
Bridgerton seasons 1 – 3 are streaming now on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
