Breaking news: Taylor Swift makes a historic, one-of-a-kind announcement at the final show of the ‘Eras Tour’

Taylor Swift had one last crack at history during the final concert of the “Eras Tour.”

The tour came to a conclusion on Sunday with a show in Vancouver, bringing an end to the nearly 19 months of concerts across the globe for the pop star and girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

While Kelce and the Chiefs were wrapping up their ninth straight division title on Sunday night with a 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Swift was making her own historic announcement north of the border.

Swift announced to the crowd in Vancouver that the “Eras Tour” topped 10 million attendees.

“We have toured the entire world with this tour, we’ve had so many adventures, it’s been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life,” Swift said. “We’ve got to perform for over 10 million people and tonight we get to play one last show for you here tonight.” While Swift may have fallen just short of the most-attended concert tour of all time — Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour officially had 10.3 million people attend — she beat the British band for most attendees per show. Swift ended with 149 shows in total, averaging close to 68,000 people at each concert.

Swift toppled many other records along the way. At a show in Toronto in November, the signer announced that her tour was the first to play six sold-out shows at the Rogers Centre. The “Eras Tour” was also the highest-grossing tour of all time, generating an estimated $2.2 billion.

With the tour now at its conclusion, Swift will be able to attend Kelce’s games as the Chiefs look to lock up the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC.
