1. Elphaba encounters the yellow brick road

In the first movie, we saw how the Wizard included Elphaba and Glinda in the decision of what color to make the brick road in Oz. They ultimately decided on yellow.

In the second movie, we’re going to see the making of the yellow brick road and Elphaba seemingly is going to disrupt the construction process.

We have photos of Elphaba flying over the yellow brick road as it was being laid out!

2. Wedding scene!

In the Wicked stage musical, Glinda and Fiyero never actually get married, but it seems like we might see that happen in the movie.

The trailer included a shot of Glinda walking down the aisle in a wedding dress.

3. Monkeys flying away from Elphaba’s castle

It’s possible that this is a moment from the opening scene of Wicked: Part One that was just not included in the final cut, but it also could be a moment from the second film.

In the first movie, we see the monkeys flying away from Elphaba’s castle in the opening shot right after she melts. This is a different view, making it seem like we might see the monkeys flying away from the castle in another moment in Part Two.

4. Dorothy and Toto arriving at the Wizard’s palace

Dorothy is never actually seen in the Broadway musical, but her presence is known. That’s all changing for Wicked: Part Two and we know that an actress has been cast in the iconic role.

A shot we see in the first trailer is Dorothy walking into the Wizard’s castle with her dog Toto by her side.

The dog was referenced as “Dodo” in the Broadway musical, reportedly over a rights issue that prevented them from using the word Toto.

5. Tin Man, Dorothy, The Lion, and Scarecrow at the Wizard’s Palace

Something that we never see in Wicked on Broadway is how Dorothy interacts with her friends in Oz. We do learn the origin stories of the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Lion, but we never see what happens between them and Dorothy.

The second movie will feature the moment when they greet the Wizard for the first time.

6. Glinda flying away from the Wizard’s Palace in her bubble

The only time we see Glinda in her bubble in the first movie is when she lands in Munchkinland at the beginning of the movie for “No One Mourns the Wicked.”

We know from the Broadway musical that the bubble is an invention from the Wizard and it looks like we’ll witness Glinda taking flight from his palace.

7. Glinda and Elphaba holding hands at the Wizard’s palace again

We know from footage shown to press that Glinda and Elphaba will have another scene with the Wizard, seemingly all reuniting for the song “Wonderful.” In the Broadway musical, only Elphaba is present with the Wizard for that song.

The first trailer for Wicked showed a moment of Glinda and Elphaba locking hands before walking up a red staircase. It appears this is their return to the Wizard’s palace.

8. Elphaba riding away from her castle on horseback

In the opening shots of the first Wicked movie, we see a hooded figure on horseback riding away from Elphaba’s castle. Those who have seen the musical know that this is actually Elphaba escaping from the witch hunters after she tricked them into thinking they melted her with water.

The first movie only shows Elphaba crossing the bridge to exit the castle, but the first trailer showed her arriving in the poppy field with the Emerald City in the background. We presumably are going to see what happens on her journey away from the castle after escaping the witch hunters.
