THE Kansas City Chiefs have been urged to make an audacious bid for Davante Adams.

Star wide receiver Adams, 31, informed the Las Vegas Raiders that he wants out.

And the Chiefs have been told they should make a move for the superstar wideout.

Former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III thinks Kansas City should look to sign Adams.

“The Chiefs need to go get Davante Adams,” he said on X.

“I know Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers are like peanut butter and jelly. A perfect match.

“But going from the Raiders to the Jets would be trading dysfunction for dysfunction.

“The Chiefs provide an opportunity to make history and be a part of the 1st 3-peat EVER.

“Teams have made trades to their division rival before.

“If the Raiders only care about compensation for him the Chiefs should be trying to join the Adams Family.”

The 31-year-old is a six-time Pro Bowler and has been the league’s touchdown leader twice.

He spent eight seasons at the Green Bay Packers before moving to Las Vegas in 2022.

Adams has been unsettled for a while now, but this week has told the team he officially wants out.

According to reports, his preferred destinations would be the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints.

That is in large part down to his chemistry with their respective quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr.

It’s unlikely the Raiders will want to trade to their division rivals as they try for a three-peat.

The Raiders are fourth in the AFC West with a 2-2 record.

Chiefs injury crisis

Patrick Mahomes lost another offensive weapon to injury in the Week 4 win in Los Angeles

The Chiefs saw wide receiver Rashee Rice taken off on the back of a medical cart at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Kansas City was already without free agency signing wide receiver Hollywood Brown (shoulder) and starting running back Isiah Pacheco (fractured fibula).

Both are set to miss large parts of the 2024 NFL season.

Speaking after Sunday’s win over the LA Chargers sent them to 4-0, Mahomes said, “All we can do now is go back to the basics and try to get guys opportunities to succeed.

“The guys stepped up and filled in as good as they can the role that Rice has in our offense, which is a big one.”

Kansas City is depleted at wide receiver after Rashee Rice suffered a knee injury in Week 4.

He joins Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown on the sidelines with rookie Xavier Worthy now the leading weapon.

Running back Isiah Pacheco is also on injured reserve for the Chiefs.

And tight end Travis Kelce has so far struggled to find his best form in 2024.

Kansas City still sits at 4-0 despite the problems in a bid for an unprecedented third Super Bowl win in a row.
