The Giants and Cowboys played a penalty-filled game on Thursday night that left fans and broadcasters alike unhappy with what they were seeing.

Michaels didn’t hold back with his opinions about the game during the broadcast, and went off on the teams for how many flags were raining in.

“It looks like June 14th here, otherwise known as Flag Day, as you know,” he said in the first half of the game.

“We’ve got another flag. You have two more flags in the backfield. No more laundry left… And any number of calls coming your way,” he said just minutes after the previous call.

The flags just kept coming throughout the game, with 12 total flags between the teams in the first half alone.

There were only four more penalties in the second half of the game, but Michaels continued to express his disgust as the game went on.

“You’re kidding,” he said at the sight of the flags.

“You’re going to need some new flags to throw in the second half. These ones are filthy.”

NFL fans also shared their disgust with the penalties that flew throughout the game on social media.

“Get rid of TNF and make every Monday night a double header been saying it for years,” one fan said.

“TNF is a bad product, and terrible on the road team,” another fan said.

“Fr fr, this a bad look for the whole league. They gotta get it together asap!” a third fan said.

“The product has been SO bad this year. Primetime especially,” a fourth fan said.

“Just get rid of Thursdays games seriously. Players hate it, they always underperform and they usually get hurt! Just saying,” a fourth fan said.

NFL fans tend to dislike Michaels’ commentary, but it seems they were in agreement with him about the way things went during the game.

Despite how much fans called for the NFL to end Thursday Night Football, the ugly games are going to continue each week.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons face off next week, and hopefully they will give fans a better display than previous weeks.
