The strongest dragons are already there, but the show is yet to introduce someone very similar to them.
House of the Dragon keeps giving a closer look at its fire-spitting beasts ahead of the full-scale war that not a single Targaryen will be able to win without their fantastic pets, but some other mysterious dragons may soon enter the scene.
In the second installment’s latest episodes, it was repeatedly hinted at the possibility of several wild dragons hiding somewhere around the Vale, which is surely an opportunity to grasp for Rhaena, whose role will grow once she joins Rhaenyra’s forces.
Though the wild dragons are called so for a specific reason and are also believed to be stubborn with someone who is set to try taming them, the option is still there to consider since the Blacks now have chances to get themselves another giant for the upcoming battles (should the show go in a different way rather than following the Fire & Blood’s narrative).
Surprisingly enough, Vhagar and Vermithor aren’t the only dragons out there who can boast of their ability to crush their enemies just thanks to their size.
Though Westeros hasn’t heard of him much recently, the Cannibal, the largest and the oldest of the wild dragons, is still there, and he would surely become a major player in the war between the Blacks and the Greens if it wasn’t for his (obviously) wild nature.
Sometimes even believed to be older than Balerion, Westeros’ biggest dragon ever, though still a bit smaller than Vermithor (hence several times smaller than Vhagar), the Cannibal actually never seemed to care for the whole feud between the Targaryens as he wouldn’t even let anyone get close to him (there’s no need to specify what would happen next).
The dragon got his weird name after proving to be on bad terms with House Targaryen’s beasts — simply put, the Cannibal had no trouble with eating other dragons after they died in battles and was actually known across Westeros as the only dragon to not mind having fellow creatures for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
However, the Cannibal was still kind enough not to get into fights with people unless they bothered him too much.
Ultimately, he’s one of the few of his species to survive the Dance of the Dragons, but the Cannibal’s fate after the war remains a mystery.
