Kelly’s men led the game 23-14 going into half time.

Ramos had the chance to extend the Tigers’ advantage, but missed his attempt from 39 yards.

His failed kick, skewed wide right of the posts, proved to be the last act of the first half.

As players made their way off the field and back to the locker rooms, Kelly marched on to confront Ramos.

The kicker had initially been consoled by a teammate – but Kelly took a more direct approach.

The furious looking 62-year-old could be seen yelling at Ramos.

At one point he even appeared to put his hand on his player, as if to stop him walking off.The uncomfortable-looking exchange then appeared to continue as both made their way off the field.

Several fans were left unimpressed by the scene.

“Brian Kelly is chewing his kicker out for missing a rushed field goal,” one wrote on social media.

“That’s bulls***! Chew your coaching staff, they’re the ones that deserve it, maybe look at yourself in the mirror. #LSU @LSUfootball.”

“Brian Kelly bout to fight the kicker,” a second commented.

“How the f*** do you get mad at your KICKER for the kick being blocked??” another fumed. “Instead of being mad at the o line for letting a player get through that fast… Brian Kelly is a f***ing clown.”

“Brian Kelly needs to calm down,” a fourth claimed. “Damian Ramos has been one of the best kickers in college football the last 12 months.”

“Brian Kelly yelling at his kicker like this is weird,” another added.

The Tigers went on to win the game 44-21.

Kelly also showed his fury last week following his team’s 27-20 defeat to USC.

After the game he slammed his fist on the table during his media availability – with Shannon Sharpe among those to subsequently be critical.

He went on to call the loss “unacceptable” and “ridiculous” – and admitted that he was “not doing a good enough job as a coach”.

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, when they face the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road.
