The Boys Season 4 continues to surprise fans with unexpected plot twists and turns, but some viewers are becoming worried about one antagonist that they believe is getting less and less significant and, at times, losing its grip on the storyline.

Victoria Neuman served as the secret villain in Season 2 and later made her way into becoming one of the overarching antagonists in the next two seasons. The character is undoubtedly a complex one, but some of the audience think the character no longer has a definite goal in the show.
Fans Are Upset Over Victoria Neuman’s Villain Arc In The Boys
A Redditor shared their concern over Claudia Doumit’s Victoria Neuman and the villain’s purpose in Prime Video’s The Boys. According to the fan, the scribes of the series have “written her into so many schemes and betrayals I no longer understand her or what her ultimate goal is.”
Neuman exhibits the type of villain that is difficult to understand due to the framework of her personality. She’s a mix of a ruthless, calculating, and even manipulative woman, but there were times she showed her gentler side. Her being introduced as an antagonist is rooted in something the fans could no longer see.

The same fan argued if she just simply wants to “take over the world? But for… what? Is she just a narcissist? Is it to stop Homelander?” Many questions are being asked about Neuman’s real motives in Season 4. The decline in the quality of her character brings so much disappointment to some fans who find her “super charismatic and pretty.”
Perhaps the show will have more surprises for the character in the remaining episode (or the next season) since fans “would hate for her to be a wasted character due to incoherent writing.” They wish the writers would clarify her true goals as another fan agreed with the earlier sentiment and responded how “‘I want power’ feels generic and way too shallow.”
Claudia Doumit On Playing The Boys’ Victoria Neuman

In her interview with Decider, actress Claudia Doumit reflected on playing Victoria Neuman in The Boys and revealed that Season 4 is a massive turning point for her as a villain.
It feels as though she’s pulled between two parts of herself this season: The part of her that is in pursuit of absolute power and the part of her that just wants to run away and escape all of it. And you see that unravel as the season goes along. You see her become very destabilized internally.
From the actress’ statement alone, it’s clear that there’s an internal struggle that Neuman is fighting which mirrors her actions in the show. She’s torn and confused but also determined to accomplish her goals that aren’t clear to the viewers.
Hopefully, the show will clear this up in the final episode or the next season. After all, The Boys have been renewed for Season 5, marking its concluding chapter.
The Boys is available to watch on Prime Video.
