In Emily in Paris season 2 Camille does forgive Emily, but finds a way to do so while also strategically achieving her goal of reuniting with Gabriel by enlisting the help of her mother. Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), the Netflix Original’s main character, has been adjusting well to the Parisian way of life, thanks to her new friends. Among her social circle is Camille (Camille Razat). Sadly, in Emily in Paris season 2, their friendship becomes sour. Their schism stems from a shared interest in Camille’s former boyfriend, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo).

Camille emerges victorious when the season 2 love triangle concludes, but only thanks to her mother’s interference. Though Camille wasn’t totally honest in her methods of winning Gabriel back, her victory seemed to simplify things when Emily in Paris season 3 began. Gabriel and Camille’s relationship appeared to be mending nicely, even taking some big steps forward while Emily found happiness in her own relationship with Alfie. Of course, things couldn’t stay simple forever and Camille’s victory in season 2 ended up leading to some shocking season 3 moments.

Camille Eventually Won Gabriel Back Over

Emily in Paris season 2 picked up immediately after the events of season 1. Emily is leading a double life after sleeping with Gabriel, thinking he would return to his hometown. Since the Normandy chef decided to stay and pursue her, Emily is carrying the guilt of getting involved with him, all while maintaining her friendship with Camille. Their affair was revealed and, as expected, Camille felt betrayed, ending her friendship with Emily and punishing her at her job.

Fortunately, Camille’s wrath does not last long, and she continues her friendship with Emily before eventually reuniting with her lover during the Emily in Paris season 2 ending. In episode 5 of Emily in Paris season 2, Camille finally admits to her parents that she and Gabriel broke up and that Emily had double-crossed her. Upon hearing this, her mother Louise (Camille Japy) launches a campaign to get her daughter and Gabriel back together, and all she asks in return is Camille’s obedience and cooperation.

The actual plan is never revealed, though it resulted in Camille’s comeback. It seems like Louise intends to capitalize on Emily’s guilt and force Camille and Gabriel to spend time together. As Emily gets tossed aside, the former couple becomes reacquainted, triggering memories of their time together and realizing that they are, in fact, a perfect match.

How Camille Got Gabriel Back

Camille & Emily Agree Not To Pursue Gabriel, Which Camille Goes Back On

Over the next episodes, Emily in Paris’ allies turn into villains. Camille seemingly takes back her rash and hurtful actions, and she forgives Emily and places her friend back in charge of the Champére account. After reuniting, Camille and Emily even make a pact not to be romantically involved with Gabriel. Of course, since Emily desperately wants to bury the hatchet, she clings to this promise and actually sets aside whatever feelings she has for him.

Camille slowly worms her way back into Gabriel’s life.

Meanwhile, Camille slowly worms her way back into Gabriel’s life. She shows her support by attending the opening of Chez Lavaux and even offers to manage the rowdy crowd by serving them drinks. As Gabriel sees her regularly, perhaps she will regain his trust and affection, resulting in Camille’s reclamation of Gabriel’s affections and allowing him to see who has been there for him all this time.

Moreover, in a continuous attempt to sideline Emily and Gabriel’s romance storyline, Emily has been invited back to the château, where Gérard (Christophe Guybet) has a bloody yet minor accident. Regardless, Louise still urges Gabriel to visit and spend time with the family. She even lies about the extent of her husband’s condition and pushes the narrative that it was Emily’s recklessness that caused the accident.

As Camille becomes more visible in Gabriel’s life, Louise subtly taints Emily’s reputation, framing her daughter as the more viable option to pursue. With the mother-and-daughter plan seemingly successful, Gabriel once again chooses to be with Camille. This then set up the long-awaited Emily and Alfie romance of season 3.

Emily (Kind Of) Deserves What Happened With Gabriel

Emily Almost Ruined Her Friendship With Camille

Camille winning Gabriel back over Emily is somewhat karmic. Emily in Paris is essentially about a young woman finding herself while living abroad, so she is bound to make some poor choices along the way. When Emily poked her nose into Gabriel and Camille’s relationship by sleeping with him, she risked an important friendship and ended up losing a lot more than she gained. In the end, Gabriel ends up doing to her exactly what Emily did to Mathieu, which comes back full circle and serves as retribution, even though it’s achieved in a backhanded and dishonest way.

Even if Camille’s mother did scheme and interfere she is not Emily in Paris‘ true villain. She was simply trying to right the wrong that had been enacted on her child, though she arguably went too far at points. Camille wins out at the end of Emily in Paris season 2, and in a way, it’s what Emily deserved. Emily’s acceptance of the truce with Camille makes the outcome sadder and more bitter, skillfully setting up the stakes for season 3 which reveal that Camille’s plan didn’t put an end to this love triangle.

Did Camille’s Season 2 Victory Pay Off In Season 3?

Camille Ends Up Breaking Off Her Wedding

After her apparent victory in season 2, it seems that Camille does forgive Emily. However, that doesn’t prevent there from being plenty of drama in season 3 of Emily in Paris. Initially, it seems as though Camille is getting everything she wants with her relationship progressing to the point that Gabriel proposes to her. However, as the season builds toward the wedding, Camille also begins developing feelings for a female artist named Sofia (Melia Kreiling). This begins to raise doubts in Camille’s mind about whether she really wanted to win back Gabriel.

Regardless of her conflicted feelings, Camille continues on with the wedding with the final reveal of season 3 explaining why. Camille calls things off with Gabriel at the altar, confessing she went back on her agreement with Emily. Camille reveals how much guilt she’s been harboring after seeing the love Gabriel and Emily share. However, Gabriel reveals that Camille is also pregnant, which suggests that this love triangle will only get more complicated in Emily in Paris season 4.

What Happens To Camille In Season 4

Camille Is Not Pregnant But Lies To Everyone

The first half of Emily in Paris season 4 follows the outcome of Camille’s decision to leave Gabriel at the altar. This decision leads to several things happening, including Emily breaking up with Alfie and getting back with Gabriel. It also leads to Camille disappearing when the fourth season begins after Gabriel reveals she is pregnant. When Camille finally returns, she believes she is pregnant, and this means she will remain part of Gabriel’s life, even though he is now dating Emily.

However, that leads to the season’s twist when Camille reveals she is not pregnant. It was a false positive caused by the medications she was taking. Camille tells Elise but remains dishonest with everyone else, as she hasn’t told Gabriel. According to Camille, the pregnancy keeps them in each other’s lives. This lie leads to the final episode of Part 1, where she goes to Gabriel’s restaurant and chooses to pretend to be still pregnant, which should lead to a very interesting Emily in Paris season 4, part 2.
