Some shows desperately need that Netflix magic.

It’s no secret that any show or movie acquired by Netflix gets unprecedented exposure. Think what you will about Netflix, but this media giant has a huge impact on viewership and can make any show popular with just a dash of promotion, which makes it harder to compete with smaller production companies.

For the longest time, AMC has been putting out great content that has often been met with underwhelming results. However, the new deal they signed with Netflix will allow AMC shows to get the renaissance many of them deserve. Here are all the AMC series you can stream on Netflix starting August 19, 2024.

Fear the Walking Dead ( Seasons 1-8)
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (Season 1)

First and foremost, as of August 19, fans of The Walking Dead franchise will be able to indulge in two popular spin-offs in addition to the original series, which has been streaming on Netflix for quite some time. So if you are feeling nostalgic and want to relive the thrill, mark the date on your calendar.

A Discovery of Witches (Seasons 1-3)

For those who love the procedural genre but want their stories to be filled with more than just countless murders and traumas, A Discovery of Witches offers a sweet respite. The show straddles the line between procedural and fantasy, taking viewers into the world of witchcraft and all things magical.

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches (Season 1)

Staying on the topic of witchcraft, this show has been a short but wonderful story of a dedicated neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Fielding, who one day learns she is the heiress to a dynasty of powerful witches haunted by a sinister spirit. Letting the magic into her life is not an easy task in itself, and working out the mystery of the spirit is an additional challenge.

Dark Winds ( Seasons 1-2)

Dark Winds is one of the few shows on the list that is still going strong and will bring another season to viewers’ screens. A psychological thriller, the show follows two Navajo tribal police officers from the 70s as they investigate and get to the bottom of some of the toughest cases and try to stay alive in the process.

Interview with the Vampire ( Season 1)

Another show that has now aired 2 seasons and has already been renewed for a third is Interview with the Vampire. The series offers a more accurate and authentic look at the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt. For now, Netflix will only carry the first season, but that may change if viewers show enough interest.

Into the Badlands (Seasons 1-3)

If you love a well-choreographed fight scene and are inspired by the philosophical element behind Martial Arts, Into the Badlands is the perfect TV series to take your mind off the stresses of real life. The show follows the path of a warrior and a young boy who accompanies him on his quest for enlightenment and purpose.

Kevin Can F**k Himself (Seasons 1-2)

Although the show did not get the attention it deserved the first time around, the story of unhappy wife Allison Devine McRoberts has the potential to become a new hit. Mixing the classic multi-camera sitcom setup with dramatic single-camera shots, the show delves deep into both sides of its protagonist.

Monsieur Spade ( Season 1)

Set back in the early 60s the show puts its viewers in the noir atmosphere of a fictionalized South of France, where the legendary Detective Sam Spade is facing yet another impossible case amidst his well-earned retirement. It’s safe to say Detective Spade cannot stay out of it and begins to dig into the case at hand.

Preacher (Seasons 1-4)

Starring Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun and Ruth Negga as a supernatural trio who travel the country trying to find answers to the burning questions they have about their own natures, Preacher is the show that is sure to be just as popular in 2024 as it was in 2016. So if you’re looking for a show to start with, this is your best bet.

That Dirty Black Bag (Season 1)

Another show starring Dominic Cooper, this time joined by Travis Fimmel and Aidan Gillen, takes viewers back to the Wild West. That Dirty Black Bag had ambitious plans for a three-season run, but audiences didn’t receive the show with much enthusiasm, so it got stuck on one.

The Terror (Season 1)

While the anthology horror series The Terror is about to celebrate the release of its third season in 2025, Netflix has only picked up the rights for one season. Whether the streamer doesn’t have much faith in the horror genre or simply wants to gauge the initial reaction, if the show sounds right up your alley, give it a try right now.
