WARNING! This article contains minor spoilers for The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, part 1!Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer highlights the hill houses, courtrooms, and scenery of Los Angeles, with many on-site filming locations enhancing the legal drama’s authenticity. Based on Michael Connelly’s book series about Mickey Haller, the cast and characters of The Lincoln Lawyer are led by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s eponymous defense lawyer, who often operates from the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car. As one of the top defense attorneys in Los Angeles, Mickey Haller finds himself frequently traveling across the City of Angels when visiting clients, chasing leads, and spending time with his teenage daughter Hayley.
From Mickey’s lavish home in the hills to his time surfing the Pacific Ocean, The Lincoln Lawyer depicts a variety of real and fictional Los Angeles, California locations. The events leading up to The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, part 1’s ending also lead Mickey to several new locations around the Los Angeles area, including Lisa Trammel’s restaurant, Hayley’s horse riding lessons, and a club where he meets “Legal” Siegel. With much of the series’ scenery being shot on-location, The Lincoln Lawyer season 2’s real filming locations augment the show’s legal atmosphere.
Mickey’s House – El Mirador Drive, Los Angeles
Mickey’s house is one of the staple locations in The Lincoln Lawyer seasons 1 and 2, which is actually filmed at a real house located on El Mirador Drive in Los Angeles. The multi-million dollar home features Baldwin Vista views that Mickey often looks out to when sitting out on the back porch. While Michael Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer book remarked that Mickey’s home was ordinary on the inside, that isn’t the case for this gorgeous home featured in Netflix’s TV series adaptation.
Lisa’s Restaurant – Los Angeles Film Shoot Venue
In The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, episode 1, Mickey has dinner with his ex-wife Maggie McPherson at the restaurant of Lisa Trammel, who would soon become his client in a trial for murder. The elysian depicted within The Lincoln Lawyer season 2’s story is a fictional space said to be located in Los Angeles’ Frogtown neighborhood, but these scenes weren’t filmed inside a real LA restaurant. According to Netflix’s Tudum, Lisa’s restaurant is filmed at a retreat venue and film shoot space in Los Angeles. The Lincoln Lawyer season 2’s art department transformed the Frogtown spot into the atmospheric elysian.
The Paseo Club – Valencia, California
The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, episode 2 sees Mickey reunite with his father’s former colleague “Legal” Siegel (Elliott Gould), with the lawyers meeting at the upscale Paseo Club for drinks. Unlike Lisa’s restaurant, The Paseo Club is a real sports club in California that permitted The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 to film a few brief scenes on the patio. The real Paseo Club where Mickey and Legal discuss how to outmaneuver Russell Lawson is located in Valencia, California.
Hayley’s Equestrian Lessons – Los Angeles Equestrian Center
Mickey and Maggie’s teenage daughter Hayley picks up horse riding in The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, which makes Mikey excited given his equestrian experiences in his youth. During The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, episode 3, Maggie and Mickey chat around the fence while watching Hayley during her equestrian lessons. This scene is filmed at the real 75-acre Los Angeles Equestrian Center, which can be found at the top of Griffith Park in Burbank, California.
Mickey & Lisa’s Walk – LA River Path
During The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, episode 4, Mickey and Lisa take a walk along the river as they discuss whether to accept Andy’s offer to plead guilty or fight at the trial. This brief sequence is filmed on-location at a path along the LA River, where many other Angelenos are seen enjoying the scenery. From the LA River to the closest beaches, The Lincoln Lawyer continues to highlight the bodies of water located around the series’ home city.
The Cowboy Palace Saloon
Back in The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, episode 2, Cisco briefly meets with Teddy, the leader of the Road Saints biker club, to discuss whether Kaz is a “rat.” While The Lincoln Lawyer’s Road Saints typically hang out at The Patch, Cisco and Teddy meet at The Cowboy Palace Saloon, a real neon-lit bar in the Los Angeles area. Often the home to live country music, The Lincoln Lawyer’s filming location The Cowboy Palace Saloon can be found in Chatsworth, California.
Lorna’s Coffee Shop – Highly Likely Cafe
Proving her legal skills outside the office, Mickey’s second ex-wife Lorna makes her own discoveries regarding Lisa’s murder trial when going to a local coffee shop. While Lorna doesn’t end up ordering anything, she tests the eyesight of witness Margo Schafer by having her read the specials menu at a nearby coffee shop. This scene was filmed at the Highly Likely Cafe in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, which appears to be just as popular in real life as it is in The Lincoln Lawyer season 2.
