On November 15th, 2024, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul stepped into the ring for what was one of the most watched boxing fights of all time. Over 60 million households tuned in to watch the social media influencer take on the Hall of Fame boxer in what was expected to be his last fight.

Unfortunately for Mike, the bout was not competitive at all as Jake dominated nearly every round in the fight. One judge even gave Paul an 80-72 victory, and the performance that Tyson put on was simply embarrassing and should have been the end for the 58-year-old legend.

However, plans may have taken a turn as more could be in store for Iron Mike following this loss to Jake. In his in-ring interview, he made some comments that fans weren’t likely expecting to hear from him.

Despite the embarrassing defeat to Paul, Tyson is still planning on fighting.
Tyson suffered health issues before the fight against Jake and is simply not in the condition to enter a boxing ring.

To the shock of everyone who was watching the event, Tyson stated after the fight that retirement was not confirmed for him. When asked by Ariel Helwani if this was his last fight, Mike simply responded with, ‘Nah, I don’t think so.’

Considering that he had a payout of over 20 million from his fight against Jake, it’s somewhat confusing as to why he doesn’t want to retire, as there is not much else to gain if he continues to fight.

He was defeated with ease by the YouTuber, someone who many have already claimed is not a ‘real’ boxer. If that’s the case, then Tyson, against a legitimate pro who is fighting competition, would easily be able to have their way with him.

Tyson also recently suffered an ulcer flare in May 2024, and his health is not where it should be for someone stepping into the ring. There were clear cardio and stamina issues in his performance on Friday night, and he showed that he is in no shape to compete anymore.

With Logan seemingly being out of the picture, it’s not yet known whether Tyson is preparing to hang up the boots. This Jake fight could have very well been his last, but considering that he hadn’t announced his retirement yet, Mike could be looking for one last bout.
