For years, Meek Mill has not been one to hide his close relationship with Diddy: The two have often been seen partying or hanging with each other at public outings. But now that the heat has been turned up on the Bad Boy Records founder, the Philadelphia MC plans to exhaust every measure to ensure he puts as much distance between himself and the disgraced music mogul.

In a tweet posted to X on Monday evening, Meek wrote, “I wanna hire an investigative team 100k cash to find out every specific detail involving meek mill name to ‘Diddy’ Case…. I also want them to look at who is powering the media involving ‘meek’ anything to do with buddy! ‘Something not right.’”

In another post, he wrote, “The streets know wassup with me thats not the case….We talking about business side ,somebody powering these bad campaigns with “meeek mill” again I got 100k for a thorough investigation of who’s powering and how exactly my name connect to this…”

Naturally, everyone in the comment section made fun of the rapper, saying he is his “own star witness” and “only making things worse.”

Another user commented, “Let me say what you really mean. “I need to hire a lawyer to prepare my defense.”

Someone also shared a picture of Diddy and Meek wearing matching shirts and wrote, “N***a you did this to yourself yall look cute and s**t matching tho.”

When did the rumors about Diddy and Meek’s relationship start?

There isn’t an exact moment where we could point to where the two hip-hop figures became close, but Meek opened up about Diddy showing him love back in 2014.

Since that moment, the two have seemingly been inseparable, hanging out and partying at almost every public event they attended. While people always made jokes about their friendship, serious rumors did not start to circulate about the two until this year.

In February 2024, music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lengthy 73-page complaint, claiming he recorded audio and video of Diddy and his staff engaging in “illegal activity.”

In that same complaint, internet sleuths theorized that Meek was one of the redacted names in the lawsuit since Jones described one of the artists as a “Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj.” The lawsuit specifically reads, “Rapper (REDACTED) on Mr. Combs yacht consorting with underaged girls, sex workers.”

While it has not been confirmed if Meek was the redacted name in the suit, fans have run with the theory and continue to think he’s connected to Diddy’s alleged illegal empire.
