The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was originally announced as a series of movies to continue Rick and Michonne’s story, before franchise boss Scott M. Gimple eventually pivoted to a TV miniseries.
Gimple collaborated with series stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira on the premise of The Ones Who Live, which revolved around Michonne trying to rescue Rick from the mysterious CRM group that appeared across multiple Walking Dead shows. While the series was conceived as a one-off limited series, Gimple has since hinted that a second season is definitely “possible”.
