Walz, 60, is the governor of Minnesota and took a trip to Michigan for a Big 10 college football showdown.

He attended the game at ‘The Big House’ in Ann Arbor.

Michigan held off a late rally from Minnesota, who fell to 2-3 this year with a narrow 27-24 defeat.

Footage on social media showed Walz leaving the stadium with fans forced to wait for his motorcade to pass.

But as the VP nominee rolled past, he was booed mercilessly by angry supporters.

A cry of “get out of here” could also be heard among the constant booing.

Walz had a tough day with both Minnesota losing the game and the reaction he received from fans.

Kamala Harris’ running mate will have to steady himself for Tuesday’s VP debate against JD Vance.

Walz was tailgating with fans outside the stadium before Saturday’s game in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

He posted a selfie with students on X, formerly known as Twitter, braving the rain.

“A little rain can’t keep us from the big Michigan-Minnesota game,” he wrote.

“And it’s not gonna stop these students from making sure that everyone on their campus is registered to vote.”

Walz was undeterred by the fans booing him.

He posted a video of his trip to Michigan’s famous ‘Big House’ stadium.

Walz claimed he had been waiting 60 years to visit the stadium and described it as “a religious experience.”

College football’s 2024 shake-up

Oklahoma and Texas switching from the Big 12 to the SEC is one of the biggest changes to college football in recent times.

And that has set off a chain reaction which has left the Pac-12 conference decimated.

The Pac-12 has lost 10 of its 12 members and is down to just Oregon State and Washington State.

Four of those teams are headed for the Big 12 – Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.

Another four are going to the Big 10 – Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.

And the other two teams, California and Stanford, will join the ACC conference.

No teams have left the SEC, Big Ten or ACC.

“I’ll always be a Minnesota guy,” the 60-year-old wrote on X.

“But after meeting some great people at the Big House, I must admit – Michiganders know how to host a good game day.”

The Wolverines held on to beat the Golden Gophers and improve to 4-1 this season.

Michigan is the reigning national champion in men’s college football.

But they suffered a harrowing 31-12 defeat at home against Texas earlier this year.
