Kirkman Thanks Fans Ahead of The Walking Dead’s Landmark Issue
The Walking Dead #1 debuted in comic shops on Oct. 8, 2003, and now twenty-one years later, the series continues to be re-released in the new deluxe full-color format. Creator Robert Kirkman expressed his gratitude to fans for their support over the years in Skybound’s press release for The Walking Dead Deluxe #100. “How many comic book series have had the honor of reaching issue 100? Now tell me how many have had the fortune to do that twice!” Kirkman said.
“Holy moly, I’m just blown away by the level of support our fans have gifted us with year after year. What an incredible ride this continues to be. If you’re not experiencing this deluxe presentation of the series, featuring glorious color from the master Dave McCaig, you’re really missing out.”
