Rumors and controversy have followed Combs for years, dating back to his relationship with Lopez between 1999 and 2001, when they were arrested together after a violent incident at a New York nightclub. Sean “Diddy” Combs is accused of coercing female victims to participate in sex shows called “Freak Offs,” following raids in March at his homes in Miami and Los Angeles. Authorities seized items that could help prove what was going on inside these residences.
Hours after “Diddy” was arrested in New York on September 17, a federal indictment obtained by NBC News was unsealed, charging Sean with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution.
