The Golden Globe nominee was accused of not caring enough for their role
Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is back with its second season. And doing their absolute best for the cast members who have been holding the front since Day 1.
Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon | HBO
Among the main cast members is Emma D’Arcy, who plays the older version of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. The actor is one of the main focal points of the show and is amazing audiences with their brilliant acting. In a recent promotional interview, the actor shared a tidbit from their filming days that will shock the fans.
House of the Dragon Director Said Emma D’Arcy Didn’t Care For Their Role
Emma D’Arcy won the hearts of fans after coming on to the role of Princess Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon season 1. And with season 2, their popularity has only grown. Being one of the leading cast members, they have been praised by fans and critics alike for their flawless performance as the Targaryen queen, battling it out to win the throne. But a recent revelation has left fans stumped.
In a BBC Radio 1 interview alongside their other cast members, upon being asked who has the most memorable director’s note from the set of House of the Dragon, D’Arcy laughingly revealed that a director said:
This is just a quote: ‘You look like you don’t care.’
And then burst out laughing alongside castmate Olivia Cooke, who plays Alicent Hightower in the show. D’Arcy then went on to add:
I was like, ‘Well I do care.’
Cooke also mentioned that she knew who the note was from, but neither named the director who had said these words to The Talent fame.
House of the Dragon‘s Two Opposing Sides Has a Biased Outcome
While the Blacks and the Greens are very equally important to the story, things are a bit different when it comes to the show as opposed to the books. George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood and Ryan Condal’s House of the Dragon are quite different when it comes to bringing the story to life. While it was the Green’s greed and ambition that mostly plagued Martin’s story, in the show they are shown in a much more negative light.

The Blacks, by no means, are the innocent party, as they have done plenty wrong to win the war. But in the show, it feels like the Greens are the villains who are trying to wage war against the Blacks, instead of the story being more balanced in the equation. Season 2 has already opened to a pretty high audience score, and fans are waiting for each upcoming episode with excitement.
