EXCLUSIVE: As the school holidays come to an end, Kate Middleton will be feeling “conflicting emotions” amid her cancer treatment, royal expert Jennie Bond tells OK!
The summer holidays are officially over, with children across the country heading back to school – including royals Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Along with parents Prince William and Kate Middleton, the family have been enjoying a relaxing break at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, as well as Balmoral over the past few weeks.
But as it comes to an end, the Princess of Wales will be feeling “conflicted” over new-term plans for her three children amid her cancer treatment, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claims. “I think that, like most mums, Catherine will have conflicting emotions about the end of the school holidays,” she tells OK!.

“Entertaining three children day after day – especially when there must still be days when she is feeling the effects of her cancer treatment – can’t always have been easy in these past few weeks. But she and William have looked wonderfully relaxed in the few images we have seen. I’m sure they’ve had a lot of fun and family time in Norfolk and Balmoral.”
Jennie adds that as George, 11, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six, get back into a routine, it will offer Kate, 42, some time to recuperate. “Now it’s back to the early morning discipline of school uniforms, bags packed, homework done and the school run. It will give Catherine the chance to rest quietly when she needs it without feeling guilty that she’s not with the children, and it will also give her the opportunity to continue the work that she has been doing behind-the-scenes on the campaign and projects that mean so much to her,” she explains.

In March, Kate announced to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer. In an emotional video, she revealed that, following abdominal surgery in January, further tests found that cancer had been present and that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
She stepped back from the spotlight to recover at home, but she delighted fans when she made public appearances at events including Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon.

Now, Jennie says that she hopes Kate doesn’t feel any guilt for taking some time away. “I hope very much that she is not feeling guilty about her prolonged absence from the public stage. I hope she realises that the vast majority of the public completely understand that she needs time and privacy to regain her strength,” she says.
It comes after Kate and husband William, 42, took a brief pause from their summer retreat to express their support for Team GB’s Paralympics squad ahead of the opening ceremony on Wednesday, 28 August.
They wrote: “Looking forward to another few weeks of incredible sport! Wishing the very best of luck to our @ParalympicsGB athletes and all those competing at #Paris2024.”
