Norman Reedus has hyped up one episode in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 as the best episode of the entire franchise he’s ever seen. Daryl Dixon season 2 will be shaking things up for the titular survivor, who will still be in France fighting against the Pouvoir when the show returns. However, the season will also focus on Carol trying to find out where he is, making her way overseas in an attempt to bring him home. Previews for season 2 have promised plenty of action and suspense in the newest episodes.

Speaking with Collider, though, Reedus hyped up the Daryl Dixon season 2 finale, praising it as the best episode of The Walking Dead franchise he’s ever seen. Without going into detail, the actor explained how much he wants to give Daryl’s story a proper conclusion, but teasing that his story isn’t over yet. Check out what Reedus had to say about the episode below:

I think it’s got some time left in it. I want that character to end correctly. It started correctly and I put too much work into it to be a drone shot waving goodbye. You know what I mean? I want him to get his justice. It still has a huge fan base. I get mobbed all the time because of that show. In France, when the posters went up, it was bananas. We’re about to start Season 3, but I will say the finale of Season 2 is the best one-hour Walking Dead anything ever. I’ve said it in press before. I stick to it. It’s mind-blowing.

Why Daryl Dixon Season 2 Will Be Even Better Than Season 1

Season 2 Will Have More Dynamic Conflicts

Daryl Dixon season 1 ended with the titular character seemingly deciding to stay in France, despite being given an easy way to go home to Virginia. This decision indicates how much he’s grown connected to Isabelle, Laurent, and France as a whole, seeing it as a new home he can build a life in. However, Carol’s arrival will likely make him feel torn about his decision, now knowing the people back home miss him and would do anything to see him return.

Since season 2 will feature both Carol’s return and Daryl’s continued defense of his new home, it will likely be an action-packed, harrowing adventure for both characters before they reunite. When they do, anything could happen, with Reedus’ teasing of the season finale already setting the stage for a major event in the show. This likely has to do with Daryl Dixon season 3’s location change, with the new batch of episodes getting filmed in Spain. Perhaps season 2’s final episode will focus on how the core characters end up moving locations, and what influences them to leave France.

It’s also possible the season 2 finale will see major Daryl Dixon characters be killed off, perhaps even someone the protagonist has grown close to. Given how much Reedus is praising the episode, though, it’s likely going to be both a satisfying time for viewers, as well as one of the wildest events The Walking Dead has ever put to screen. With no way of knowing how the season finale is going to play out just yet, it seems the rest of season 2 is going to be building toward an event that defines the spinoff into its future.
