Antony Starr perfectly captured the egotistical and sadistic personality of Homelander in The Boys, something that the actor takes pride in. While he’s used to filming many strange scenes from the show, there’s one he found ultra-bizarre and cringe-worthy at the same time.

In Season 4 Episode 6, Homelander was faced with a shocking intimate scene with Valorie Curry’s Firecracker that left fans utterly stunned and speechless. According to the actor, it went from a sappy romance turned into a weird s*xual act.

Antony Starr Comments On The Wildest Scene He Ever Filmed

During his appearance in Late Night with Seth Meyers, actor Antony Starr revealed the br**stfeeding scene in The Boys was the craziest thing he ever did in his career.

That’s like the weirdest scene I’ve ever done. I’ve done some pretty weird [expletive] in my career. I’m so used to reading like the bizarre things on this show. I read that and I’m like, ‘Ah, just another day at work.’ But then we get there and I’m getting almond juice squirted in my face.

The actor admitted he tried to prepare himself before going to work because they could be filming anything that day. In this particular episode, Valorie Curry’s Firecracker expressed her unwavering loyalty to Homelander and admitted she’s been taking prescription medicine to induce lactation.

Starr likened the scene to Ryan Gosling’s The Notebook, and later on, the shocking moment came when Firecracker had to show Homelander what she’s got for him.

I started getting really emotional and it turned into a love scene where I’m basically going, ‘Oh, my God, you did this for me.’ And she’s all like, ‘I’d do anything for you. And it’s like something out of the bloody ‘Notebook.’ But it’s about br**st milk getting squirted in the face.

The actor confessed after finishing the scene that he started questioning his choices in life. He joked, “I remember after a take just going, ‘What are we doing?’ I could have been a lawyer. I could have – What is this job?” Surely, even Homelander did not expect that surprise from Firecracker.

The Boys Creator Praises Antony Starr And Valorie Curry

Series creator Eric Kripke tips his hat off to Antony Starr and Valorie Curry for pulling off that risky scene. He revealed that the act was already planned from the beginning, but he still was surprised when the actors proclaimed they were down to do it. He told Variety:

The fact that we cut to the actual br**stfeeding scene makes me cover my mouth every time. It’s just so stunning, and wow. Just what it means to the characters — the actors’ balls in pulling that off. I mean, it’s just my chef’s kiss to all of them.

The choice to take Homelander’s bizarre obsession to the next level is something only The Boys can accomplish, and this is why Starr believes they are the antidote to the superhero fatigue.
