Recalling the days of wealth with a $400 million fortune, Mike Tyson once gave his Lamborghini to a valet for this absurd reason

Mike Tyson is doing reasonably well as a businessman, and his stint in the entertainment media validates his mettle. Once boasting riches in the vicinity of $400 million, ‘Iron’ Mike, unfortunately, had to part ways with his wealth for one reason or the other. Besides leading a flamboyant lifestyle, he went after some of the most zany purchases when the big paychecks started touching down at his doorstep. Quite a few off-the-wall stories touching Mike Tyson’s heydays still bounce around many studios.

A rather exciting incident of what Mike Tyson did with an expensive acquisition came up on VLAD TV‘s show. It appears to be the eighth part of the series. So DJ Akademiks and the host soon took up the early incidents involving Mike Tyson. Soon the discussion moved to the kind of money he used to make in his prime. Interestingly even a comparison with Floyd Mayweather Jr. came up.

Even a Lamborghini meant nothing to ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson in his prime

Though he came across news about Mike Tyson purchasing expensive items, he could never conjure it up. In his view, Tyson never laid bare the money he made. The host immediately said, “Floyd respects money when Tyson did not.” Then he narrated to DJ Akademiks the story of when Tyson hung out with Don King. So when he went to Vegas for a fight, he visited a Lamborghini dealer and bought a new model. Later when he went back to his hotel, while parking, the new ‘Lambo’ hit somewhere.

Tyson got out to check. Disappointed, he termed the car inauspicious. So he called up the valet and told him to have the vehicle. The dumbfounded person looked at him to see whether the champion was pulling a prank. Mike Tyson assured him that he was giving him the car for real. “He gave a Lamborghini to the valet driver and a spur of the moment because he thought it was bad luck,” he added,

A year after becoming professional, Mike Tyson became the youngest Heavyweight champion in history, defeating the Jamaican Trevor Berbick. The fight in 1986 fetched him $1.5 million. By the time he returned from incarceration, barring a few exceptions, most of the paychecks touched eight figures. His biggest payday came when he launched his last concerted attack to become a world champion against Lennox Lewis in 2002. The fight reportedly made him rich by $103 million. But come 2003, ‘Iron’ Mike filed for bankruptcy.
