Marvel Studios has released a trailer featuring Iron Man’s MCU replacement, Ironheart, and the deep-cut Marvel villain she will be facing. Marvel Studios’ 2025 release slate looks full to the brim, with six shows landing on Disney Plus throughout the year. Ironheart is set to be released on June 24, 2025, and will follow Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams in her journey to fill the shoes of one of the MCU’s most important and prominent characters, Iron Man, three years after her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
In a trailer replete with first looks at Marvel’s upcoming projects, a glimpse at Ironheart shows Riri Williams striving to “Build something undeniable“ as the series’ presumed villain, The Hood, asserts that being iconic requires doing some “Questionable things.” The footage includes some high-octane shots of Ironheart in her suit of armor flying through the street and toppling a speeding truck. Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins, AKA The Hood, is the only other character featured as he delivers his ominous line. Check out the full trailer below.
What The Ironheart Trailer Reveals
Riri Williams Is Building Bigger And Better Suits
The Ironheart trailer is short but still somewhat revealing. After debuting in a high-tech vibranium suit in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams appears to be striving to create bigger and better suits, much like her late predecessor. The white suit seen in the footage appears designed to be physically imposing, increasing Riri’s stature to such a degree that she can make short work of a truck. Shots of her donning the suit are also reminiscent of Iron Man’s Mark XLII armor as it appears to propel and attach to Riri piece by piece.
Footage revealed exclusively at D23 in August revealed that Riri Williams has been expelled from MIT and initially works with Parker Robbins to build a new suit.
It remains unclear whether Parker Robbins will be the primary antagonist, meanwhile, though his statement about doing “Questionable things” certainly hints that he will be acting nefariously. It could also suggest that Riri will be the one to act questionably as she can be seen toppling the truck as Robbins says his line. The trailer also confirms that Ironheart will be released between Daredevil: Born Again on March 4 and Eyes of Wakanda on August 6.
Our Take On The Ironheart Trailer
Riri Williams’ Armor Looks Amazing
Marvel Studios is under pressure to ensure that Ironheart hits the mark with fans in a landscape where the studio has struggled to justify the volume of its output. This trailer has bolstered my confidence in the show as Riri Williams’ new suit of armor looks incredible within an action-packed sequence of events. Additionally, the obscure villain, The Hood, looks like a compelling new character set to bolster the MCU’s magic-users. While I’m holding out hope that Armor Wars will still be released, Ironheart looks like a fitting tribute to Iron Man’s legacy in the meantime.
