Netflix’s Emily in Paris is soon to be back for a highly anticipated season 4 – and we’ve been promised more romance, drama, scandal, and of course, iconic outfits. The Mirror takes a look at the teaser to see what’s to come…

The trailer hints at a spark with both Alfie and Gabriel

Get the popcorn and your most outlandish outfits ready as the newest season of Emily in Paris is just around the corner.

The show is set to return to Netflix next week after what feels like an eternity since season 3 launched, and not only will we be treated to some more iconic outfits and dreamy locations, but we will finally find out what happens with Emily, Gabriel and Alfie.

Finally, all burning questions are about to be answered. Does she go back to Alfie? Does she reveal her feelings for Gabriel? Are she and Camille still friends? And what happened to Sylvie’s “thorny dilemma from her past” and also Mindy’s Eurovision entry?

The popular show has teased fans with a trailer, meaning we’re not far off bingeing the entire series – and we simply can’t contain our excitement. It shows Emily trying to figure out her next steps after her break-up with Alfie as she says she’s “ready for new experiences” – but it’s clear she’s still working out her feelings for Alfie and also Gabriel.

We also see her (unknowingly) break the news to Gabriel about her relationship status. However we can very much see that even though they have broken up, we’re still going to be seeing Alfie on our screens – yay!

It seems as if the book isn’t closed with Gabriel still

Not only is Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount, still around as they’re seen to be watching a sporting event, hinting they are still on good terms, but we’re also shown a clip of Emily and Gabriel celebrating – which makes us question if he managed to get the Michelin Star he was on a mission to receive. The pair look cosy in the scene, and it’s clear they still have a highly tense romantic connection, with that chapter still not fully shut. We also see glimpses of Camille, who left things frosty with Emily in season 3.

Paris is the city of love, so any clip of the love interests is going to look romantic, but in particular, the trailer shows Emily cosying up to the pair in different scenes, as well as exchanging flirty texts with Gabriel, kissing Alfie and arguing with Camille, hinting at yet more drama in the love triangle.

She’s also seen with Alfie despite breaking up 

Series creator Darren Star told Netflix’s Tudum viewers can expect “new characters, a lot more drama, (and) romance, in the upcoming season. Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule in Season 4 of ‘Emily in Paris,'” He added: “From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily’s eyes. Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master.”

One of the most-loved aspects of the show is Emily’s jaw-dropping wardrobe, and it’s something every Emily in Paris fan will obsess over. From the trailer, we can see Emily visits some pretty stunning locations, and in one, is skiing (cue the iconic snow outfits, fur and eye-catching coats).

The oufits look to be more iconic than ever 

It seems as if the outfits are only going to get braver too according to the show’s costume designer Marylin Fitoussi. She told Netflix’s TUDUM: “Emily is really coming into her own, asserting herself, becoming much stronger with a style that is reinterpreting Parisian fashion codes. And our motto was obviously to have fun, but to take maximum risks.”

Season 4 is the first time the show is split into two parts, and we will get our first instalment of five episodes on August 15, and the second five-part installment on September 12. Lily Collins and Netflix posted back in January about the show being in production.

Netlix took to X and said: “BONJOUR SEASON FOUR… Emily in Paris is back in production.” The post also had a photo of Lily wearing an adorable Eiffel Tower tee, holding her script for ‘episode 401’ for a table read dated 17 January 2024.
