Jake Paul’s girlfriend is not too keen on his next fight against one of the biggest punchers in the history of combat sports.
On November 15, Paul will face the legendary boxing icon Mike Tyson in one of the year’s most anticipated and controversial events. The YouTuber-turned-boxer will have to bulk up to heavyweight for the bout, and is facing far and away the hardest hitter of his young career.
However, there is a belief that the massive 31-year age gap between he and Tyson will be a big factor in the fight. Paul is an active 10-1 fighter, while his rival has only competed in two exhibitions since quitting the professional game back in 2005.
Jake Paul’s girlfriend fears he will get knocked out by Mike Tyson
During an episode of his podcast BS With Jake Paul, the social media star sat down with his girlfriend Jutta Leerdam to discuss her concerns about the upcoming fight. Leerdam is a top athlete in her own right; an Olympic medal-winning speed skater.
And while she feels that her boyfriend will win, she has admitted that it’s the most nerve-wracking fight of his career since they began dating. They confirmed their relationship in April of last year, meaning she was around for his bouts with Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland and Mike Perry.
“I think you’re going to win but he’s the competitor that is the most scary to me,” she explained. “For me, if I look at him, he’s scary, he’s super strong and I’ve seen, like, videos of him. Of course he’s a little older now, but if you’ve ever been able to do that your body remembers it.
“He has that power forever… But also one thing about Jake is that he’s been doing this for like five years. I think that is worse than being almost 60 and your whole life you’re used to that power, you’ve trained so much your body will remember that.
“He’s had so many years of training, Jake didn’t even train five years ago. He didn’t do anything, he was partying, it’s not even comparable. He is 57 but he is strong and his body remembers how to fight, Jake has been doing this only a few years.
“So if someone started a few years ago in speed skating, they couldn’t even participate in the world championships. That’s not even possible, so what Jake is doing is already crazy, seriously.”
Jake Paul’s mother is also terrified of Mike Tyson clash
In a video first posted in March when Paul and Tyson were due for a July date, the social media star asked his mother “Hey, did I tell you that I’m fighting Mike Tyson?” She appeared to nervously giggle before asking “What if he knocks you out?”

And while speaking to Bloody Elbow a few months later, he noted that she is very concerned about what could happen when he steps into the ring with ‘Iron Mike’. “She will be there but my mom is very scared actually,” he explained at the time.
“Like, she keeps on asking me if I’m ready, asking my team if I’m ready. She’s not liking this one, to be honest. He just looks scary and big, and his Instagram videos on the mitts look crazy and everything, so I get it.”
Logan Paul lie detector reveals surprise Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson prediction
In a YouTube video shared by the younger Paul brother earlier this year, he was seen undergoing a lie detector test, administered by his brother Logan Paul. The test revealed that he was lying when he claimed that he is confident of beating Tyson, much to his annoyance.
He admitted that he is “nervous” and bordered on even letting slip that he was scared before stopping himself, and then told his brother: “I think I’m going to, I don’t know, it’s going to be tough. It’s going to be tough.”
Another shocking result came in when his brother decided to get on the test. While Logan did admit that he feels Jake would beat his former rival and current business partner KSI, the test declared him to be lying when he said he feels that his sibling will beat Tyson.
