Megan Thee Stallion Says Beyoncé Told Her to Make Savage Verse Cleaner

MTV has revealed the nominees for this year’s Video Music Awards – and a pair of Houston superstars are in the mix.

Megan Thee Stallion earned five nominations, including best collaboration for “Wanna Be” with Glo Rilla. The anime-inspired “BOA” video is up for best hip-hop, direction, art direction and visual effects. Megan already has two VMAs for best power anthem (“Hot Girl Summer”) and best hip-hop (“Savage”).

Beyoncé hasn’t released a music video since 2021 but earned a song of the year nomination for “Texas Hold ‘Em” from “Cowboy Carter.” She’s up against Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift and Teddy Swims. Beyoncé has won 29 VMAs, the most of any artist.
