“I have this belief and I hope it’s true in terms of The Rings of Power, I think being able to expand upon the world is only a good thing,” Boyens said.

She added, “I particularly love that particular piece of Middle-earth history. Some people seem to think there is a rivalry or conflict between the projects, but there is absolutely not and I don’t believe there is from their part either.” Boyens continued that all of the projects “should complement each other. Amazon’s Rings of Power Renewed for Season 3
The Rings of Power was recently given the green light for a third season and its showrunners, J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay say it’s going to be “awesome.” Payne confirmed that they are “working on it,” but McKay added that was all they could say. “It’s gonna be really good. We’re excited,” Payne said.
Instead, McKay said they used Tolkien’s The Ring Poem which he said, “To our minds, is probably the order that most readers and viewers are familiar with from either Peter (Jackson’s) films or The Lord of the Rings proper, and that rationale, we think is serving the show well.”
The Animated Story has had Mixed Reviews
The War of the Rohirrim has received a lukewarm reception from critics thus far. It is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings and tells the story of Helm Hammerhand and his daughter Hera and is narrated by Éowyn (Miranda Otto). Some critics have given praise for the animation style and its battle scenes, but others say it is at odds with the aesthetic that fans are used to with the Peter Jackson films.
The Rings of Power is streaming its first two seasons on Prime Video. The War of the Rohirrim is currently in movie theaters.
