Emily in Paris season 4, part 2 has left fans wondering what, exactly, happened to Camille (Camille Razat) after her false positive pregnancy reveal. A core member of Emily in Paris‘ cast of characters since the very first outing, Camille is initially introduced as a rival for Emily (Lily Collins) as the American in Paris pursues Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo) affections. To make matters more challenging for Emily, Camille is Gabriel’s on-and-off-again girlfriend, and they share a pretty serious history. When they first got together, Gabriel dreamed of becoming a Michelin-starred chef, while Camille planned to open an art gallery of her own.
Even though Emily in Paris‘ love triangle persists for the first few seasons, Emily and Camille become close. Emily even refers to Camille as one of her first Paris friends, aside from Mindy (Ashley Park). In Emily in Paris season 3’s ending, Camille jilts Gabriel at the altar, announcing to everyone in attendance that her would-be groom is still in love with Emily. Before leaving, Camille reveals that she’s pregnant with Gabriel’s child. That plot point that comes to define the show’s fourth outing until Camille realizes it was a false positive in Emily in Paris season 4, part 1’s ending.

By the third episode of Emily in Paris season 4, part 2, Camille basically vanishes into thin air. This time, she isn’t just running away to Giverny to deal with her feelings. At the end of season 4, part 1, Camille decides to keep the false-positive pregnancy revelation to herself. Camille was incredibly excited about having a child, so she believes navigating both the shock and Gabriel’s feelings would be a lot. At the same time, however, Camille has a perfect opening in episode 5’s final scene, but refuses to take it and keeps Gabriel in the dark.
Emily encourages Camille to pursue the life she really wants…
In episode 6, “Last Christmas,” Emily is stranded in France, so, against her better judgment, she joins Gabriel and Camille’s family for the holidays. Camille’s attitude highlights Emily in Paris‘ villain problem; the show can’t seem to stop retreading old storylines. The pregnancy lie keeps Gabriel in Camille’s life, all while making the chef’s relationship with Emily increasingly strained. After Emily breaks up with Gabriel, Camille finally tells her ex about the false positive, and Gabriel largely takes it in stride. In episode 7, Camille tries to convince Gabriel to adopt a child with her, which goes poorly.Emily in Paris season 4, part 1’s soundtrack is full of French-language songs as well as covers of recognizable hits, adding to the show’s atmosphere.
When Emily gives Camille a baby gift, the false pregnancy reveal comes to light for the third person in Emily in Paris‘ love triangle. Emily encourages Camille to pursue the life she really wants, which plants a life-changing seed. Camille moves out of Emily and Gabriel’s building rather suddenly. According to Gabriel, Camille wants a fresh start, but it seems like an abrupt and poorly-written exit for a major character.
Emily In Paris Season 4 Copies An Alfie Problem With Camille In Part 2
Camille Gets Slightly More Closure Before She Initially Disappears – But Part 2 Does Bring Alfie Back
The way Emily in Paris season 4, part 2 handles Camille’s story echoes part 1’s Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) problem. The first half of the show’s fourth outing left viewers wondering what happened to Emily in Paris regular Alfie, who essentially disappeared after spotting Emily and Gabriel together at episode 3’s masquerade ball. Although he and Emily were mostly broken up by episode 3, both parties had some lingering feelings, which became especially evident when they danced together. Instead of having a final conversation, Emily and Alfie don’t see each other again until a chance run-in in part 2.
If the season weren’t broken into two halves, Alfie’s apparent disappearance might not be as jarring. After all, he does return in season 4’s finale to congratulate Gabriel on his long-awaited Michelin star. Weirdly, that’s more than Camille does for her long-time lover-turned-friend. Before she vanishes from Emily in Paris altogether, Camille does have a final chat with Emily, in which she reveals her plan to adopt a child on her own. For now, Camille’s future in Emily in Paris season 5, which is moving to Rome, is unclear.
