Audiences watching the House of the Dragon season 2 premiere may have noticed a shift in Mysaria’s accent, and there’s a specific reason behind this. Mysaria was a minor character in season 1, who can perhaps best be remembered as Daemon’s brief romantic interest early in the season, whom he escapes to Dragonstone. In season 2, episode 1, she plays a pivotal role in helping Daemon achieve revenge for Lucerys Velaryon’s death in the House of the Dragon season 1 ending.

In the House of the Dragon season 2 cast, Mysaria is played by actress Sonoya Mizuno. The series is based on the book Fire & Blood, in which Mysaria is known as The White Worm for her vast spy network in Westeros. It’s been a common theme throughout House of the Dragon, where characters’ true motivations and actions don’t align exactly with how they’re portrayed in Fire & Blood’s “historical account,” which serves as a thematic exploration of how real-world history can be interpreted.
