Millions of Netflix users tuned into the second part of the fourth season of Emily in Paris, and some viewers are now hoping for a prequel series.
Emily in Paris centers around Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) and her life in France that’s full of work, adventure and love triangles.
After Emily accepts a job offer in Rome in the Season 4 finale, X users have begun to show an interest in watching ‘Emily in Rome’ for the show’s upcoming fifth season.
Social media is also calling for a prequel that focuses on some of the characters like Emily and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), despite social media’s hatred toward him.
However, most X users are hoping for a prequel about one main character – Sylvie.

Portrayed by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Sylvie is a tough business woman who was dubbed the ‘baddest bish’ on the show earlier this year.
Sylvie and Emily have an intense relationship, but the French professional has hinted she cares about Emily more than once.
Sylvie is also involved in a complicated marriage with Laurent (Arnaud Binard), whom she’s cheated on more than once.
Despite her messy love life and complicated relationships, X users are hoping for a Sylvie-focused prequel series, and one person even suggested Collins serve as a producer.
‘We need a new series with the one and only Sylvie as a main character!’ an X user tweeted.
Another person wrote: ‘It has always been and always will be Sylvie in Paris.’
Other than Collins serving as a producer, more than one X user suggested the potential Sylvie prequel series be about her life ‘before her marketing agency’.
‘Sylvie just deserves a full-on prequel show, I’d binge that so much. She’s so iconic,’ an X user wrote.
However, one X user is not interested in watching a Sylvie prequel series anytime soon.
‘Yeah, like that would be cool cause I love Sylvie. But a prequel about Sylvie won’t give us more Sylvie. It’ll just give us a younger actress playing Sylvie, which I’m not interested in,’ the X user tweeted.
‘I am much more interested in the beautiful Italian man. Sylvia is hooking up with in Rome.’

Other X users who watched the latest season are more interested in what will happen to characters in the future, and one person think that one episode for a ‘backstory to all the characters’ is enough.
Several viewers have also begun rooting for Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) and urged Emily to kick Gabriel to the curb.
‘Emily leaving her phone behind before walking out the door with Marcello in the season finale of #EmilyInParis is the character arc we’ve been waiting for,’ tweeted an Netflix fan.
Another Emily in Paris watcher tweeted: ‘Okay Emily don’t mess this up, Marcello is perfect.’
At least four X users insisted Emily and Marcello were ‘endgame,’ and one tweeter even admitted to rewatching an episode that focused on her new Italian loved interest.
Various X users have been more excited about the characters’ futures rather than their pasts
Emily in Paris fans who are rooting for Marcello may have been excited to learn that he and Emily’s relationship will be explored during the fifth season.
‘Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,’ Collin’s said on Good Morning America.
‘I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.’
Besides Collins, Bravo and Leroy-Beaulieu are expected to star in Season 5, along with Ashley Park, who portrays Emily’s close friend Mindy Chen.
As of now, Season 5 is not in production, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
