With two finalists from his team making it to “The Voice” season 27 finale, celebrity coach Michael Bublé experienced the high of winning with contestant Adam David, but also the low of seeing his other team member, Jadyn Cree, become the target of online hate.
As one of the top five finalists to make it through to the finale, Cree, 23, performed two songs — “Come on Eileen” and “Lose You to Love Me” — during the first night of the season finale on May 19, 2025. As soon as clips from her performances were posted online, critics quickly flooded the comment sections with harsh reviews, with many claiming she didn’t belong in the finale.
Bublé spoke out about the backlash on May 21, 2025, telling TV Insider that he called Cree as soon as he saw what was happening online, from many viewers asking how she made it so far in the competition to someone who wrote, “I feel like I’m watching drunk karaoke.”
Michael Bublé Says He Told Jadyn Cree ‘There’s A Lot of Darkness Out There’
Bublé told TV Insider that as mean comments piled up on Cree’s posts, he reached out to her to offer some comfort and advice.
“A lot of people had negative things to say about her last night and I called her,” he told the outlet. “I said, ‘Jadyn, you pour so much light. There’s a lot of darkness out there. Don’t you allow them to ever take away your light.’”
The “Home” singer maintained that Cree, whose dad is season 25 third-place finisher Bryan Olesen, is still “a pop star.” She finished in fifth place after the votes were revealed on night two of the season 27 finale.
On May 21, Cree wrote a thank you note to her coach on social media that said, “@michaelbuble thank you so much for believing in me and giving me the chance to be able to perform so many times on this amazing stage. you are truly one of my bestest friends. you are such a genuine soul and you bring so much light into every room you walk into. thankyou for being silly with me all the time. we still gotta work on that secret handshake!”
Viewers were far kinder in their comments on that post, praising Cree for an impressive season, including one person who wrote, “You’re a star!! You should have placed higher!!! Wonderful things coming your way!! Excited to follow your JOY!”
“You were my fav in the whole show,” someone else commented. “I’m so proud of you and I know you’re going to do amazing things.”
Bryan Olesen Thanks Michael Bublé for Having His Daughter’s Back

Before the May 20 live show, Olesen — who was in the studio audience to see Cree perform — took to social media to thank Bublé for being there for his daughter.
Choking back tears in his selfie video, Olesen said, “I wanted to give a shout out to Bublé as a coach. He has gone far and above the call of duty. I know that man cares for my daughter deeply and her well-being. It’s not just a job for him, and it takes a tribe sometimes, you know, to encourage — and you love when people come alongside that can give a different angle of support and influence to your children.”
“And Michael, you’ve done that for my daughter,” Olesen continued, “and thank God for you. I pray for you. Thank you for being a good human and for serving with your gift and not just being selfish with it. It’s very Jesus-like. You’re washing feet in so many ways, and I just want to give a shoutout to you.”
“I know there’s forces of darkness that wanna come against people like you,” Olesen acknowledged, “and we have your back and we see your light, and thank you for making my daughter’s light continue to shine and encourage her through this.”
