A new clip for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 3 has been released, showing Carol (Melissa McBride) meeting Genet (Anne Charrier) for the first time as her search for Daryl (Norman Reedus) continues. Daryl Dixon season 2 has continually focused on two storylines, with Daryl trying to save Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) from the Nest and Carol seeking him out by flying overseas. At the end of episode 2, she wound up on a truck full of people heading to a Pouvoir outpost, joining their ranks in hopes of gathering more information.
Now, Screen Rant has an exclusive clip from AMC, showcasing Carol and Genet first meeting one another in Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 3. The scene shows Carol looking at the Mona Lisa, with Genet coming up next to her, saying she sees a “secret in that smile.” She asks Carol where she’s from, who lies and says she got stranded in Northern France when the apocalypse began. The Pouvoir leader then brags about the painting being the real Mona Lisa, having pulled it off the wall herself. Carol & Genet Could Form A Temporary Allianc
Genet’s interaction with Carol seemingly marks the first time a major character in Daryl Dixon from France has approached the veteran Walking Dead survivor. Given her innate mistrust of people, it doesn’t seem like the Pouvoir leader will be able to win over the American in her ranks that easily. However, the season 2, episode 3 trailer reveals Carol will also meet Codron (Romain Levi) soon as well. Since the group’s leader is currently searching for the Nest, it’s possible the secondary protagonist will end up allying herself with her, if only to get back to Daryl.
However, the clip also hints at Carol getting caught up in her own lies, as spending an alleged 13 years in France means she’d likely be able to speak French. Since she can’t, Genet might grow suspicious, making her question the real reason she’s decided to join the Pouvoir. She’s already lied about Sophia’s death to Ash (Manish Dayal), who thinks they’re overseas searching for her, complicating the web of information she needs to keep straight. This will likely come to a head when she finally reunites with her friend, alongside learning about his mission to protect Laurent.
Our Take On Carol’s First Time Meeting Genet In Daryl Dixon Season 2
It’s Setting The Stage For What’s To Come
While it’s still unclear where Carol and Genet’s conversation will take them, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon trailers previously hinted at them being together for some time, including Carol riding in the passenger’s seat beside her in a truck at one point. This makes it highly likely this talk begins a shaky alliance, one that will be broken once they’re able to find Daryl. For now, though, it seems the seasoned survivor is doing whatever it takes to live in France, ensuring the continuation of her mission going forward.
