Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira squashed rumors that he’s “dating” Grammy Award-nominated musical artist Ice Spice. The rumor seemingly surfaced due to a fan edit of Ice Spice sounding like she mentioned “Do Bronx” in her MTV Award acceptance speech in the past.

Here’s the video as posted by Ben Davis on X:

The video was more in the realm tongue-and-cheek humor than something to be taken seriously, as proven by Oliveira’s comment on it, which simply said: “Lol. You guys and these jokes”

Still, X user MexicanMeatballs speculated, saying: “Are you and ice spice still dating?”

To this, ‘Do Bronx’ replied with: “No. I’m married bro. I didn’t know how that rumor popped”

Charles Oliveira offered to face Marcelo Garcia in possible superfight at Craig Jones Invitational

A rumor worth speculating is a possible grappling superfight between Charles Oliveira and BJJ legend Marcelo Garcia. It turns out that jiu-jitsu icon Craig Jones tried to book ‘Do Bronx’ in a grappling match for the ages with jiu-jitsu pioneer Marcelo Garcia for the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational on August 16-17.

Garcia is widely considered one of the pound-for-pound greatest submission grapplers of all time, holding five International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) world titles and four ADCC world titles. He is a member of both the IBJJF and ADCC Hall of Fames.

As for Oliveira, aside from being a former UFC lightweight champion, he holds the record for the most finishes in UFC history with 20 and most submissions with 16. A match between him with the fellow Brazilian legend would have been a grappler’s dream.

Here’s Craig Jones speaking about booking the match on YouTube (9:25):

“Marcelo Garcia, I don’t know what I can say, we tried. I’ll say we gave it a red hot try. Honestly, I was trying to book Marcelo vs. Charles Oliveira. That’s what I was trying to get done.”
