There’s no signs of reconciliation

Prince Harry at Queen Elizabeth's funerals.

According to body language expert Judi James, there was no reconciliation between Prince Harry and King Charles during Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral. In an interview with The Daily Mirror, James claimed that the Prince and Meghan Markle were “alienated” by the sovereign at their last gathering with the royal family.

She described the interaction between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Charles at Buckingham Palace before the Queen’s funeral as “hard-hearted and unpleasant.” James emphasized the “sense of alienation” between Prince Harry and King Charles, stating that it was “obvious” before the Queen’s funeral.

She pointed out that there was no sense of “family huddling” or communication, with Charles walking ahead with his head “bowed in what looks like grief.” According to James, the non-verbal messages conveyed powerful emotions.

Regarding Meghan Markle‘s demeanor, James previously mentioned to Page Six that she offered her husband “silent support” at the funeral. She observed that Markle displayed “a look of dignity tinged with sadness” while sitting and walking with Harry.

Harry’s memoir made things worse

The strained relationship between Harry and his father has been a long-standing issue, exacerbated by the release of Harry’s 2022 memoir, “Spare.” In the memoir, Harry accused his father of making “sadistic” jibes about his “real” father, referencing the speculation surrounding Princess Diana‘s former lover Major James Hewitt as his biological father.

Furthermore, tensions were heightened with the revelation that Charles was named as one of the racist royals in Omid Scobie‘s book, “Endgame,” alongside Kate Middleton. They were reported to have questioned the skin color of Prince Archie before his birth.

Despite the strained relationship, there are attempts at reconciliation. Page Six reported that Harry and Meghan are making efforts to patch things up with King Charles. A source revealed that the couple’s new strategy is reconciliation, with Harry realizing the importance of time as he turns 40. They reached out to Charles on his 75th birthday, marking their first call in six months, and even had their children sing for the king over the phone.
