Let’s be honest for a minute here. We haven’t seen anything special from the Kansas City Chiefs offense, but they still managed to win against the Los Angeles Chargers tonight. But at what cost? The sense of urgency is real, and it is Andy Reid, who must get his team ready for another 3-peat run. But after Rashee Rice’s injury, is it still possible?

What’s about to happen to Rashee Rice?

The Kansas City Chiefs HC took the podium after the 17-10 win against the Chargers and revealed what Rashee Rice’s future holds, or more so, what’s going to happen tomorrow. The hyperextension of Rice’s knee was obvious, and now, the Chiefs primary receiver is going to get his knees diagnonsed tomorrow.

“Rashee will have his knees checked out tomorrow with an MRI and it’s his knee and I think we’ll have to wait and see. I’m sure it’s not as good of news as we want, but we’ll see how it goes,” Reid said in the post-game presser. “The guys feel terrible for Rashee.” Rice’s injury was terrible indeed as the Chiefs offense is falling like dominos.

First it was Marquise Brown, then Isaiah Pacheco and now it’s Rashee Rice, putting the final nail to the coffin. Before Rice was carted off, he was having trouble bearing his own weight and was in complete agony as he laid on the stretcher. Let’s hope the injury is not as serious and he bounces back in a couple of weeks like Jordan Love, who suffered an MCL injury in his left knee.

However, per ESPNs Adam Schefter, this might be worse than the initial prognosis. Schefter’s sources have told him that this might an ACL injury. An ACL tear is far worse than an MCL tear, but as Reid said, we’re going to know more about it tomorrow. Rice didn’t record any stats and was ruled out in the first quarter.

So, how did the injury to Rashee Rice happen in the first place?

Patrick Mahomes shocks the NFL world and becomes Rashee Rice’s bane

Y’all might have seen countless videos of Mahomes throwing a pick and injuring Rashee Rice in an effort to stop the return. The pass was intended for Travis Kelce, but the QB overthrew the ball and it ended up in the hands of Kristian Fulton. Rice came from behind and knocked the ball of Fulton’s hands while Patrick Mahomes was in the front, trying to tackle the Chargers CB.

While Fulton evaded the tackle from the 3x Super Bowl winner beautifully, the Chiefs QB bumped into Rice’s right knee and it hyperextended, causing the receiver to go down. As stated before, the Chiefs’ featured receiver was having problems putting weight on his right knee and was carted off.

Before all this happened, there was a narrative going around that the Chiefs were giving more chances to Rashee Rice to use Travis Kelce somewhere else. Well, that might not be happening anytime soon. So, again, the onus falls on Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes to win the next couple of games. Thankfully, Xavier Worthy is in a healthy condition and let’s just hope for Chiefs’ sake that it stays that way.
