Tyson Fury is set to face Oleksandr Usyk this weekend, but he’s already thrown a punch at Jake Paul following Mike Tyson’s victory

Tyson Fury is set to take on Oleksandr Usyk this weekend and joked he could offer Jake Paul the chance to fight his manager Spencer Brown

Tyson Fury has jokingly thrown his manager’s hat into the ring for a potential bout against Jake Paul.

The ‘Gypsy King’ is intensely preparing for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia this weekend as he attempts to avenge his defeat in their first fight seven months ago. And in a lighthearted video call with Saudi boxing honcho Turki Al al-Sheikh, Fury took a break from his training regime as they discussed his fight camp progress.

“How is everything? ” asked Al al-Sheikh, to which Fury responded, “Very good, training away hard. Just finishing off camp now.” Eyeing the upcoming spectacle, Al al-Sheikh mused, “Three or four days and I will see you in Riyadh inshallah,” before floating the idea of a scrap between Spencer Brown and YouTube sensation Paul who recently outpointed Mike Tyson.

“And we can have Spencer against Jake Paul also,” he suggested, with Fury playfully replying, “Yeah no problem,” likely addressing Brown directly. Brown, the mastermind behind Goldstar Promotions, is well-versed in Fury’s promotional activities and often voices updates on the heavyweight boxer’s career moves.

Recognizing the stakes, Brown acknowledges a victory over Usyk is crucial if Fury wants to chase down high-profile matches with British contenders like Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. “I think that we need to get this one out the way,” he expressed. “There’s no collision course if he doesn’t win the next fight. So it’s imperative he beats Usyk. With the closeness of the fight last time, it could have gone either way. “Some people will say Usyk was three rounds in front, some people won’t, it’s your opinion on boxing – that’s why we love it. But Tyson Fury will be back. He’ll be firing and we’ll see a new, better, improved Tyson Fury.

“At his age, I don’t know how much you can improve but there was very little in the fight between them, so let’s back our British guy and I’m sure he will win and then we’re going to talk about the next stage.” Fury was also surprised with an appearance from Usyk while on the video call to Al Al-Sheikh, who called for a trilogy between the pair. Fury declared: “When I beat him on the 21st there’ll be a third fight, 100 percent. There has to be a trilogy.” Usyk simply replied: “I win again,” as Fury retorted: “No, you lose again,” before adding: “I can’t wait, December 21 is my time and the belts are coming back home,” resulting in laughter from Usyk.
