Lucien Laviscount Appreciates How Emily in Paris Brings People Light and Love:

Lucien Laviscount is grateful to work on Emily in Paris, in part because of the unique impact it has on viewers.

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly at the 26th Annual Angel Ball on Monday, October 28, Laviscount, 32, reflected on the legacy Emily in Paris has built, saying, “I think the show is great and brings a lot of light and love to people.”

Laviscount praised the energy that shines through on set, adding, “I enjoy shooting it and I love my castmates.”

Since joining the hit Netflix series in season 2, Laviscount has made it a point to highlight some of the best parts of working on Emily in Paris.

“That’s exactly what you see on Emily in Paris — a character that I’ve loved playing for three seasons now,” he shared with Us in May, describing what it has been like to play the fan-favorite character over the years. “I feel so grateful to have been able to bring Alfie to life on screen.”

The Netflix series, which premiered in 2020, centers around Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) and her often hilarious attempts to find her footing in France after moving from the U.S. for a new job. Emily subsequently ends up caught in a love triangle between Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Laviscount). Emily intentionally started season 4 by choosing Gabriel, which Laviscount broke down for Us at the time.

“I think he’s obviously madly in love with [Emily], and the life that she introduced him to, this friendship group, this world. And then that just gets flipped on its head and he’s just the lost little puppy,” Laviscount shared with Us in August. “Trying to stand by his own morals, but then also his heart and his head are just kind of getting in the way. So it’s a little bit of a battle between the heart and the mind, I think, for Alfie.”

By the end of season 4, things have changed significantly. Alfie told Emily he found someone else while her relationship with Gabriel came crashing down. Despite Alfie and Emily not ending up together — for now — Laviscount was thrilled to see what would come next for his character.

“I don’t want to say changed who he is [for Emily], but he’s seen the world in a different light, and I think he definitely got schooled in the world of emotions,” he added at the time. “I think she’s definitely taken him on a rollercoaster and Alfie just needs to find who he is with this new kind of love for Paris and where he fits into the world, again with this new perspective.”

When Laviscount isn’t converting fans to Team Alfie with his scenes on Emily in Paris, the actor is using his voice to uplift important causes, such as the Angel Ball. The event, which takes place in New York City, supports children in need throughout Pima County.

“To everyone that has gone through the battle or that’s going through the battle,” Laviscount told Us on Monday about the significance of the Angel Ball. “And the people that hopefully won’t have to go through the battle.”
